I'm not sure if anyone subscribes to the FSOL list group. But apparently someone has upped a better version of there 1993 Essential Mix. It can be found @ http://fsol.disenchanted.com/web/whats_new.shtml It's the first one on the list. I am currently downloading it now, so i will compare it once it is completed.

Thanks for the info.
Would love decent copies of their 1993 / 1994 / 1995 Essential Mixes.
The ones I have like everyone else aren't too clever.
Re: Fsol
Just flipping through it now. The quality is much better than any previous one I have gotten!
Re: Fsol
Great news. D/L now.
Remember being kinda fucked up in someone's bedroom listening to this when it was first broadcast, sheer madness.
Hope they also manage to sort out the quality for 94 & 95.
Re: Fsol
Quality is excellent considering the age of this classic mix.
The last 45 minutes still sound incredible.
Re: Fsol
Seems there is a problem with the frame header if you're trying to split it into 2 parts..
Resaved using Soundforge, now OK.
Re: Fsol
Awesome, thanks so much for this. Love these essential mixes, so a better quality version makes its all the more enjoyable.
Re: Fsol
Shame not many people are paying much attention to thiis thread.
People should be made to listen.
Re: Fsol
Never this mix but have always been a big fan of their work. thanks for the heads up!

One of their mid 90s broadcasts (some 3 hour mix) we heard on the radio up some country lane mashed out of are heads on acid. Not a good idea for a few people involved, sent them completely sideways!
Oh the memories.
Re: Fsol
Memories indeed! They did some dark stuff back then!
Re: Fsol
Thank you so much. This has inspired me to dig out all those amazing 40 minute singles they used to do. I doubt many of the other mixes listed on this board will sound any good in twelve years time.
What is the latest Amorphous Androgynous album like? The Issnes is good, but you really need to be in the right mood. Also on Amazon, they miss off 'Liquid Insects' off the CD of the first AA album - anyone know why? My LP is a little worn and needs replacing.
Here's a tracklist I found for the Essential Mix:
Part 1 Amorphous Androgynous - "Environment" (EBV) Air Liquide - "Untitled" (Blue Label) Morganic - "Untitled" (Irdal) Amorphous Androgynous - "Environment" (EBV) Rabbit in the Moon (White Label) Mad Doc - "Entrance" (Prime) Tomita (White Label) Amorphous Androgynous - "Environment" (EBV) Aphex Twin - "Schottkey 7th Path" (Belgium R&S) Part 2 Amorphous Androgynous - "Environment" (EBV) Sad World - "Terasully" (German Fax) Nero Project - "Wizard of the four winds" (3 Beat) Future Sound of London - "Room 208" (Virgin) Paul Weller - "Kosmos" (Go! Discs) Zuvuya - "Gabbing Nandi by the horn" (Nation) Vapour Space - "Gravitational Arch of 10" (Plus 8) Hypnopedia - "Specral" (Boy) House Hallucinations - "Prisoners of Ecstasy" Amorphous Androgynous - "Environment" (EBV) Transglobal Underground - "Hymn to Us" (Nation) Axis - "13th Floor" (Elevate) Amorphous Androgynous - "Environment" (EBV) Amorphous Androgynous - "Mountain Goat" (Quigley) Part 3 Future Sound Of London - Cerebral Tangerine Dream - "Zen Garden" (Jive Electro) Tangerine Dream - "Breakout" (Varesa Sarabande) Bango De Gaia - "Desert Wind" (Planet) Future Sound of London - "Vit" (Virgin) Future Sound of London - "Ufcforms" (Virgin) Amorphous Androgynous - "Environment" (EBV) Part 4 Stotinki - "Space Cadets" (Nation) Soundclash Republic - "One monitor shy" (Junk Rock) Reload - "Akzinor" (Infonet) Future Sound of London - "Cascade" (Virgin) Coldcut - "Autumn Leaves" (Arista) Third Far Hand - "The cauldron" (EMI) KPM Foundation - "Circles" (KPM) Titanic - "Space Cow" (Holistic) Amorphous Androgynous - "Environment" (EBV)
Re: Fsol
The Issness is worth getting hold of, as for the latest FSOL album I'm sorry to say it wasn't upto much.

Re: Fsol
I'm so confused! I bought The Issness the week it came out in the fancy slide out sleeve. I later heard that they withdrew the initial pressing as it had the wrong versions of the songs. I later bought the limited 2 CD version as well.
The Amazon link is for the two CD version, but the cover they show is for the single CD version. When I play the single CD version in Windows Media Player the tracklisting is different to the one on the back of the sleeve. I think they've done it all on purpose!
By the way, if you want a real trip try this album that they play a lot of in their radio shows etc. Greek '70s progressive rock with Demis Roussos and Vangelis!!

Re: Fsol
There were quite a few screw ups with the isness. Have a look at this http://www.secondthought.co.uk/fsol/isness.htm you should be able to determine which version you actually have.
