One of the finest Danny Howells sets of alltime, 10 Hours of pure Howells, I remember the excitement on the net when this came out.

Re: Danny Howells at Arc in New York, on March 27th, 2004

2004 was a great year for us Danny Howells fans, several extended sets during the year:

10 Hour Set from Arc - NYC

4 Hour Set from La Mania - Romania

5 Hour Set from Stalker - Netherlands

2.5 Hour Set from Buzz - Washington DC

2 Hour Set from Cream

2 Hour Set from Tribehouse - Neuss

Re: Danny Howells at Arc in New York, on March 27th, 2004

For a while Howells spun 10 hour sets at Arc every few months in that time period. I went a few of those...in my opinion the most INSANE night was Labor Day weekend 2001 (yeah one week before 9/11) - pure madness!!! I'd give an arm and a leg to get that set!

Re: Danny Howells at Arc in New York, on March 27th, 2004

^^

his residency @ Arc was awesome, I made many a plane trip up north to see Danny, Saeed & Palash, Danny Tenaglia and Victor Calderone resident nights @ Arc

** One of my favorite nights ever at Arc was Victor's B-Day Bash the week before this Howells set, he and Danny Tenaglia blew the roof off the place, one of the most memorable nights ever @ Arc.

i was at this party & it was a sad sad sad night when it finished..we all looked at eachother on the dance floor at the end & started hugging random people saying goodbye...it was the one place new york could call home after twilo closed...now it's all gone & the venue closures continue

Yeah, I remember a lot us (ex)Twilo-heads found a new home at Arc...but even that came to a quick end. :(

I remember the many roadtrips I used to make back in the day from DC to NYC!

Nowadays I don't even know what the good places in NYC are. Pacha? I've been there on big nights and its aiight (every time I'm there I have flashbacks of Kractory hehe), but I've heard the crowd on a normal night is very hit or miss.

Re: Danny Howells at Arc in New York, on March 27th, 2004

it would be hard to say that this beats the Charlotte Sunset club set.

but i'll give this a listen. I used to have this until the computer crashd. and I remember all the cats on GU/Skansuary biggin' it up.

#1101284Post 26 of 125

Re: Danny Howells at Arc in New York, on March 27th, 2004

quite possibly the best set i have ever heard in mp3 form.

its a must listen at least once.

Re: Danny Howells at Arc in New York, on March 27th, 2004

First off, thanks to the poster. This is some serious stuff. Should get me through the work day quite nicely.

Secondly, could we start a Danny Howells Megathread/Archive thread? From reading this thread, it seems like there are a bunch of essential sets from Howells. Anyone up to the challenge?

#1101721Post 28 of 125

Re: Danny Howells at Arc in New York, on March 27th, 2004

That is a reasonably good idea. I mean if we gonna have a Hernan forum, we should definently have a Danny Howells one. Hybridized already took care of all the Nick Warren sets

i know i have a few older sets on CD's somewhere that i could contribute.

Re: Danny Howells at Arc in New York, on March 27th, 2004

This Howells mix is one of the best live sets ever. It shows NY club scene at its best, which brings the best out of the DJ's set 3 and 4 are a true classic series. I heard Deysn finish off his NYC boat party to Cermamix-Can you dance. How many times can we here a classic like Simon and Shaker-La Fiebre and see smiles and respect when played at the right place right time. Some tunes are just classic. To me the fav. is Bushwacher-Hearler on this set...Arc was an amazing venue and the sets started pushing the marathon theme on 02-03, which made the club a classic! Not to mention Danny T. threw down weekly.

Was going through one of the HD's the other night and found a bunch of Howells sets, this one is a corker, that Australia set around the same time is great too, will try to upload a few by Sunday.

such a shame...this poor city has suffered from so many venue closures in the last few years...shelter is next on the list...like you said the only major club we have is pacha...i can't stand that place & it's because of the crowd...it's ok but only after 4am when the meatheads start to clear out & there's room to dance

this is new york fucking city..how the hell do we only have 1 mega club? yea yea i shouldn't complain as we have so much in the city to do anyway but i'm spoiled with the nightlife here & i want what we had 5 years ago..

:(

t, you'll be living in South Beach in no time, WMC in your back yard, suntanned year round, plenty of great music all the time, no icy winters to contend with, etc. etc.

btw:

Todays weather 87 degrees w/ clear blue skies (postcard material)
