The spec states 256kps

Its VBR. Pretty according to spec. You cant do the best from the worse.

File linked above was encoded from original MixCloud source (link below) using youtube-dl and converted on-the-fly from m4a to mp3 for universal compatibility. If you want the original m4a I've encoded it and also shared a download link but I suspect the difference in quality will be negligible IMHO. Perhaps slightly deeper bass in the m4a file but essentially 139 kbps VBR mp3 [FONT=arial, sans-serif]=[/FONT] 72 kbps m4a.

Thanks for the post. Much appreciated. It’s a shame that the quality of mixes is diminishing due to Mixcloud and Soundcloud rips only being 128k

Id be happy to pay for higher quality.
