A lot of Djs used to give d/loads. Now even most of the local guys here don't . Must remember to ask one of them why they aren't doing it anymore.

Btw re sound quality. I have it set to original quality on Hearthis.at and it sounds so much better than Soundcloud. It is nice to have a choice. :)

This is where we differ , I will fight to the death to get good music. !!! I refuse to just get used to streaming. :lol: Fortunately there are still artists who give us downloads and at the moment I can still buy CDs. :) 389gb on iTunes. and still not all my music is there. I need to get some of my vinyl on there. :)

What I really don't understand is how Guy J, in fact anyone that puts out music, can possibly be happy that their music is streamed in such bad quality. People literally don't know what they are missing . The detail just isn't there anymore.:( It's a joke when people who ask for 320 are considered to be audiophiles :lol:

Thank goodness for Hernan . :) Every week a quality, easily accessible mix with track listing. Who else does that ??

You can resist the change or you can adapt. I accept the streaming (with some tricks to jump the rules and praying for 320 to be the standard) but I understand that you can't fight against the advance (or retreat) of technology and evolution. Or you can, but it will just wear you out.

To listen in high quality there are still, tracks, HD video streaming, albums, compilations, etc...[/FONT]

The scary thing is that 128kbs don't discourage people from ripping promos and put them in their sets, along with YouTube rips.

To me, Guy J epitomizes bog standard prog. But I've been wrong before.

It isn't a matter of fighting the advance of technology it is about choosing the best technology . :) Which is what I do , or I wouldn't be here. :lol:

My patterns of listening to music don't need streaming. I buy tracks I love in aiff , most certainly still buy albums , compilations etc. I am definitely not going without :lol:

I just consider myself lucky i can download anything free. 99% listening in car, i can hardly tell the difference- normally just the volume difference. However, if SC made everything downloadable, itd prob be the only app id pay for.

A lot of my listening is done on the move , walking , jogging. Neither my music player or my preferred headphones are bluetooth. And here in Melbourne in the CBD we have a problem with too many bluetooth signals. And a lot of my music wouldn't be available . And I would suspect a lot of yours , all those wonderful Djs you have :)

I know I can buy a bluetooth transmitter or dongle. :)

I tried a few third party down loaders and none of them seem to work for hearthis links and they all give you an error message that says

"Bad News....WE decided to disable the functionality for video-download forever due to the recent takedown of the bigger site youtube-mp3.org, which was based in Germany (so are we). Thank you so much for all your help spreading the site for the last 3 years!"

what a shame no way to get a decent quality to download to play at your leisure. i am losing respect for djs that do this.

Props to Hernan for not giving in to this BS.

No, something is not right, I have no problem downloading the ORIGINAL file from HT. See the random link I posted above, the set was downloaded 61 times.

As I understand it, you can't download the transcoded 128kbs streaming version when DL is not enabled, but that's a different story. And, while at HT you can pick the option you like, at Soundcloud they're obviously against free downloads because they want to morph the site into some streaming service once and for all.

They use Zippyshare for external downloads.

That is now blocked in the UK, but Tor Browser (or any VPN) gets round that. However, it was a 128k download again.

I just can't get into streaming because I don't trust reception and sound quality is so bad. Streaming is gonna really ruin music as we know it the way the iPod and shitty Apple earphones have already downgraded the quality. Someone even told me these days they master music to be heard on the trains through shitty earphones :lol:

(Same reason I can't find good Bluetooth on-the-go options and only just recently bought a Bluetooth headphones for office use; but sticking to wire on-the-go.)

I looked for a d/load link on this and couldn't find it. :(

Sasha LNOE podcast is downloadable through the usual RSS feeds. Now digweed im not for sure about. I just assumed the transitions shows were downloadable as well, but maybe through proton?

I had a Gen 1 iPod Shuffle for gym and another 2 Gen 2 Shuffles for backup :lol:
