Probably Nero for me. Never would have expected that to be a decent mix, but really surprised me.

They're all great choices. I prefer Tale of Us over Ben Klock, but the online love seems to be with Klock, who I think will win.

Burridge's isn't in the list. It was better than some of them listed.

Maceo for me, if only because of a personal connection. He shed the spurning locals in Dallas and moved to Spain to become a worldwide sensation.

Re: Radio 1's Essential Mix of the Year 2015 Shortlist

You're right, it gets way more percussive based. In that vein, it is more of a traditional techno mix. I don't think that has anything to do with age, just taste. ;)

On the bright side for you, at least it's not a putrid trance or dubstep mix that made the grade. I have to call that progress, though maybe I'm not giving the traditional Emix audience enough credit.

I didn't have much love for the mix myself

Kinda pokin fun on the age because I said they were loud lol...

and yes that is a huge bright side no dubstep or fancy trancy made it

Re: Radio 1's Essential Mix of the Year 2015 Shortlist

Give the full 2 hours a whirl if you can/haven't. There's a bit of a journey feel going as far as techno mixes are concerned. The acid is dropped on the final leg (must be Woody McBride, aging techno supastar).
