Re: Henry Saiz @ Ministry Of Sound, London - 24-04-2015

really nice mix here. recording is not to bad either, usually his live ones have WAY to much background noise

Re: Henry Saiz @ Ministry Of Sound, London - 24-04-2015

Why do they do that ?? They want us to know how much the people there liked them. ?? I don't mind a little subtle crowd noise, but I am always happiest with pure music.

Re: Henry Saiz @ Ministry Of Sound, London - 24-04-2015

^ I think this is a technical decision, to either record from a microphone, which inevitibly captures the noise crowd. or directly from the mixer

also radio stations used the mic recordings with crowd noise back in the days to better promote the event and show what a good time people had there, so that radio listeners would want to go and visit the event themselves, basically like marketing tool

and live recording without the crowd noise wasn't considered live. as if the crowd noise proved the authenticity of the live recording, but we all know that later crowd noises were often added in post rpoduction (Oakey live at Cream wink wink)

Actually I think the Oakenfold Cream one is a myth. At least 3 sections of it were made up of previous live mixes, then bridged together using tracks that weren't live. Hence why you can hear crowd noise on some parts, but not others.

Re: Henry Saiz @ Ministry Of Sound, London - 24-04-2015

Tracks 2 to 7 on that mix were from a Galaxy FM broardcast from 1997. 4 to 7 on the other cd was from his 1998 Essential Mix, though one of the tracks has been switched.
