The 2004 Privilege Ibiza set was epic. Still one of my fav Sasha sets! Don't know if this is going to be a bummer. Don't really like the collaboration with Pete Tong and the warming up with Steve Angelo...

Pete Tong - A DJ Elite !! stupidest thing I've heard for ages. With a phrase that's followed him for years ''everything's gone Pete Tong'', I think not. The age of digital mixing sorted Pete Tong out, as with Fatboy Slim, who both couldn't mix to save their lives when decks were around. If you like the idea of fine dining, followed by a mac & cheese then this B2B broadcast is just for you.

It's all gone Pete Tong is rhyming slang, nothing to do with his abilities as a DJ. Pete Tong has been a pioneer of the dance scene for nearly 30 years.

If you went to Ibiza in the 1990's the line ups were a lot more diverse. There was something for everyone. Then came all of these exclusive residencies and nights tailored to one sound. I used to quite like the more diverse nights, because every now and then you would hear a DJ who you would have known about, but not heard before and find out they were actually really good.

eelke klein warming up for hernan in london was a complete surprise tho,,, that i actually wanted him to keep going for much longer and i heard of him but never seen him live before

Doesn't detract from what I've otherwise stated.

Pete Tong is a DJ more along the lines of Norman Jay - he's got a fantastic ear for a good tune and talent. I could give less of a shit about how people bitch that he isn't a technically/technique minded DJ - he brings the tunes and knows how to read a crowd.

There is only 1 set that I ever liked from Pete Tong! I forgot who he was opening up for , probably Oakenfold since this was back in the heyday of the late 90's.. He started off with "History of Disco by Love Tattoo".. and the rest was just wicked crazy funk house!! I know there were other tracks like.. "boogie monster" or something with an Armand van helden remix, and some Blue Monday remix.. it was actually crazy good.. I grabbed me a bunch of them records.

I was at that gig it was at The Gallery at Turnmill's only it wasn't Oakenfold, it was Paul Van Dyk. Tall Paul also played I between them.

No Tong played first, then Tall Paul, then Paul Van Dyk. It wasn't broadcast live. The Essential Mix was an hour of Tong and an hour of Van Dyk
