Since releasing his debut album, The Idiots Are Winning, in 2006, the UK producer's output has totalled a DJ Kicks mix and the music he produced for Kate Wax's 2011 album Dust Collision. Holden has also busied himself with running his label, Border Community, and DJing. But the news of Holden's forthcoming second album, The Inheritors, was welcomed as his return. This dearth of music had not dented Holden's reputation as one of electronic music's most gifted producers. He boldly explored melody and glitch across his mid-'00s output, writing classics like "A Break in The Clouds" and his remix of Nathan Fake's "The Sky Was Pink," while in turn Border Community fostered a family of artists that shared a similar sensibility but each brought something different to the table.

@banned: the quality isnt better - just 256kbit - 192kbit with no difference in the quality, i have uploaded the original studio WAV encoded to mp3, 12 hours before it was streamed & aired ;-)
@banned: the quality isnt better - just 256kbit - 192kbit with no difference in the quality)
Does not compute...256 kbps is better than 192 kbps by virtue of the pure mathematics of it. Now whether one can hear the difference is another story altogether.

Anyway, thanks for the linkage. ;)

Re: James Holden (Border Community) @ BIS Radio Episode #697, WNYU 89.1FM (01.10.2013

ALL WNYU RADIO MASTERS 320kit (normal streams in hq 128kbit and lq 32kbit acc), on their sever everything is encoded back to WAV, so

320kbit > WAV > 192kbit on the sheet of paper a different (theoretically). Next time im smarter, im upload everything in 320kbit, so i can always say i have the highest & best bitrates, but at the end there is no difference in the sound! why should I make fun with the people about bitrates, im not mixing.dj

But maybe its better for all, longer downloads, more spoof, more senseless discussions! thats not my fashion style, but Welcome to the WAR Z Web 3.1 if its wanted. then i logged off!

Don't get butthurt now. This just sounds like inside information. Do you have access to their server to witness this or has this info been passed along? I'm disappointed to hear they trash their own master file (320 kbps) in favor of WAV. You have access to this WAV but not the original master MP3?
