Re: Thom Yorke essential mix for BBCR1 · marzo 2013
Don't suppose you have a higher qual version of Diggers 2010 EM and Sasha's 2000 Mix ?
Re: Thom Yorke essential mix for BBCR1 · marzo 2013
Diggers EM - I think my copy is floating around already, but it's slightly flawed as I was using my DVD recorder to record from my hi-fi and I was oblivious to the fact that it converts audio to 320kbps not losslessly, so in effect it's a re-encode.
Sasha EM - Have this on tape. It's on my to-do list.

Newer stuff, uploading is impossible, especially with indie. Label owners and producers get notifications for their own tracks.

Hi Simon - It was posted by DDR here: John Digweed Radio 1's Essential Mix, May 29, 2010 - Page 5
...but he used Megaupload so the link will be quite dead now. I suspect you'd have grabbed it at the time. There's also a massive debate about its merits and how it's pointless encoding it in V0. We'll agree to disagree on that point!
Re: Thom Yorke essential mix for BBCR1 · marzo 2013
^If it involves re-encoding the 320 kbps source file to V0, I would agree it would do more harm than good. ;)
Here's another mirror for Ennisellis' Emix rip:

Is there any good comment about this ??

Nothing to do with that. I had thought it was a true lossless rip at the time - it was only when someone pointed out the DVD recorder specifications state that's what it does I changed my set up and started ripping directly onto my laptop. First time I've mentioned the error here.
Re: Thom Yorke essential mix for BBCR1 · marzo 2013
I think I've got it now. :!:
Unkle, it's pretty abstract...sometimes cacophonous and repetitive, other times introspective and ambient. When percussive, it mostly ranges from midtempo to some rather frenzied DNB-type BPMs in the second half. There's also some top drawer dubstep (Phon.o) at the conclusion of the first hour followed by some retro techno workout from Mr. Oizo, then into some jazzy dnb. It's hard to do it justice with mere vocabulary. I can only imagine how it would coincide with your favorite herb(s).
Re: Thom Yorke essential mix for BBCR1 · marzo 2013
Thanks Vinnie, good summary.
Eclectic could be the word for that, I think.
Re: Thom Yorke essential mix for BBCR1 · marzo 2013
Eclectic is right...there's even a splash of Latin and Arabian thrown in. ;)
Re: Thom Yorke essential mix for BBCR1 · marzo 2013
love this set, 6 crap records :) he first two and the two behind Phon.o and the last two haha so i`ve made for my own use a best of edition :-) now its 100% lovely and 20 minutes shorter hahah
Re: Thom Yorke essential mix for BBCR1 · marzo 2013
What's wrong with Chris Clark? ;) I could do without a few tracks as well.

the problem was the second track and it was "impossible" to cut that unobtrusive out, so my set started with luke abbott :) the cut in the middle after phon.o was easy, in that break you can attach it to Mr. Oizo`s Stunt, the cut if fast but apposite to some yorke skills aha
Re: Thom Yorke essential mix for BBCR1 · marzo 2013
Ahh! OK, I don't mind the Latin action actually, it's short ;) "Trousers" is fun at least. Oizo's "Stunt" is a little devoid for me (and that DJ Tre track could do with some neutering), lol.
Re: Thom Yorke essential mix for BBCR1 · marzo 2013
I could do with some neutering too.
Re: Thom Yorke essential mix for BBCR1 · marzo 2013
Skandalous. Paging Ms. Bobbit. :0

Haha, now that's a blast from the past.
