If you've been paying attention to all the goings on in house and techno over the past few years, chances are you've made note of Timid Boy and [url="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=605"]Acumen[/url]'s Time Has Changed imprint. The French imprint has been causing a stir in the underground for some time now, no coincidence when you consider the wealth of talent that have leant their names to the label, not least [url="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=102"]Oxia[/url], [url="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=1655"]Nico Lahs[/url], [url="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=1415"]Mihai Popoviciu[/url] and [url="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=415"]Alex Niggemann[/url].
Much of THC's undoubted excellence then, stems from the astute A & R duties of the label manager. And in Italian duo Brothers in Progress, it's clear they've unearthed another corker. Their 'Gamblee EP' is indicative of the fact too.
Kicking off amongst a blissful concoction of analogue and digital elements, the title track keeps the listener getting throughout via its series of unpredictable turns. If it's house music with edge you're after, consider this a must.
Highgrade regular Todd Bodine adds a touch of minimal-styled gloss to the original, before fledgling Colombian duo Figueroa and Obando close the EP with a more ominous remix that makes smart use of Mr.High's maintained vocal contribution.
