Lets get back to the good old days when married guys fucked bitches over looking ground zero...and mayors brought their mistress into the mayors ( gracie) mansion when there kids and wife still lived there...this is what you get for electing republicans...they dont give a shit about unions from teachers to cops....

hey, dont say that. guiliani took care of the cops. he always fought the city council for more money. bloomberg is a moron though. the unions in ny get screwed b/c local 3(electricians) and the iron/steel workers and few others hold the city at randsom. a sign company i do work for actually pays more in insurance and benifts than actual salary to the ironworkers. its that bullshit that we cant allow. christ. just walk around manhatten and watch as a group of electricians and plumbers basically stand around with thier thumbs in their asses not doing work. it takes about 5 supervisors to stand around and boss 3 guys to run a wire through a pipe. the police union gets shit compared to these unions and they have the shittiest job. whether dealing with the constant flow of ghetto trash or those assholes who do the bike rally every month.

either way,the people from NY gotta get these guys a raise.

this is gonna become a political thread momentarily (thanks to this post), but here's the problem...at least giuliani had the guts to fight against his own when they were screwing him. He'd taken on Pataki a number of times on the budget. Whereas Bloomberg has done nothing while Bush/Pataki have continued to screw over this city cause of politics, even though this is where the actual attack happened. How a damn little town in Kansas could possibly get more "security" money (yes I know per capita, but still) than this city is astounding! The cops are being held for ransom cause of politics.

the worst part is they actually get jailed if they strike. basically they are being held hostage by their jpobs and the city. a fucking shame. 54k to deal with some of the worst people in the country...... they should all quit and open a private police organization, the city would have choice but to hire them. 54000 people are hard to find in a week. but we ok the fact the the state insurance fund is allowed to levy a 100000 penalty on a company if they dont pay thier workers comp insurance so the supervisor of the plumbers union can sit around and do jack shit on the job,

isn't giuliani a wife beater?

no. as a NY'er , i can say this

do not trash guiliani. never. he had his faults but did more for this city pre and post 9/11 than you can imagine. he revived mid town. got the cops raises. stodd behind the firemen and cops. nothing but admiration for him. i can ignore the fact that his marriage didnt work out perfectly, 50% of marriages dont.

Re: new yorkers---we gotta get heard

Why does everyone give so much credit to a guy that has disgustingly exploited 9/11 for political gain? ....And what did you guys expect giuliani to do after 9/11 show up to the podium drunk and crying???
