Tucson shooter obsessed with the movie 'Zeitgeist'
Re: Tucson shooter obsessed with the movie 'Zeitgeist'
diarrhea
Re: Tucson shooter obsessed with the movie 'Zeitgeist'
Big shocker there.
Re: Tucson shooter obsessed with the movie 'Zeitgeist'
Did he go bowling to?
Re: Tucson shooter obsessed with the movie 'Zeitgeist'
Watching a conspiracy theory film about how politicians and how "the elites" control your mind over and over and over doesn't have much of a correlation between a pack of teenagers going bowling before shooting up their school.
Re: Tucson shooter obsessed with the movie 'Zeitgeist'
Really how many other people have shot up the shops after watching a conspiracy theory film about how politicians and how "the elites" control your mind over and over?
Re: Tucson shooter obsessed with the movie 'Zeitgeist'
How should I know?

The point is that media can, and has in the past, triggered complete wackos to kill people. To deny the possibility is just being obtuse:
The Beatles White Album is triggered the Manson Murders, Taxi Driver triggered Hinkley to attempt to kill Ronald Reagan.
When you're dealing with severely mentally disturbed individuals, it doesn't take much to trigger an incident.

And Brenda Ann Spencer didn't like Monday's

Yes, my point exactly. It doesn't take much, even a viewing of Zeitgeist.
Brenda had the best reason tho.

Funny thing with this article is it focuses solely on the Zeitgeist movie. You read some other articles and he is tagged as a liberal, skull-worshipping occultist who liked to dress up in women’s clothing. No mention of the zeitgeist movie.
I suppose it diverts everyone away form the gun control issue

Not intentionally, but perhaps so.
Re: Tucson shooter obsessed with the movie 'Zeitgeist'
this is just more propaganda to demonize anyone the media wants to. Plus this is really good publicity for the new Zeitgeist coming out next week.. It is like when they said rap music was causing more gangs and then rap sales shot through the roof.
I wouldn't be surprised if the media didn't really hype up the new Zeitgeist since everyone knows it will be an internet sensation.
We should probably sensor things like Zeitgeist and any film anti establishment because it obviously effects the mentally disturbed.
If Washington was alive today telling the British to leave he would be labelled as mentally disturbed and a conspiracy theorist.

Inside Job
Re: Tucson shooter obsessed with the movie 'Zeitgeist'
Actually the 60 Minutes broadcast about this cracker was more about him going crazy and the state of (the lack of) mental health support in the US and the issue of the mentally ill getting guns, rather than trying to directly place blame on any movie or anything like that. They just mentioned that he was obsessed with gov't conspiracies and other crazy things such as the bookstore he was filming on his campus (that finally got him suspended from school) being full of disinformation, and the school being a total sham, and other things which are disconnected from reality.
Re: Tucson shooter obsessed with the movie 'Zeitgeist'
^yah Arizona's ranking for mental health support is last or 2nd to last out of all the states in the country. Crazy how so many of his peers in school knew it was him before they released the name. Several of his peers thought of him first when the incident was being described before the name was released.
Re: Tucson shooter obsessed with the movie 'Zeitgeist'
^Yeah esp the old chick from his class from about 10 hours after the shooting was all over the press about: i was worried he was going to come shoot up the class. Bleh.
Re: Tucson shooter obsessed with the movie 'Zeitgeist'
can't you guys see the media is trying to link anyone with a gun is mentally disturbed?
Pretty soon if you run a red light you will be considered mentally disturbed so you won't be able to get gun in the US.
Re: Tucson shooter obsessed with the movie 'Zeitgeist'
^no. the guy with the gun in this case IS mentally disturbed.

No.
US citizens are well aware that their guns are not going anywhere. You obviously don't understand RM, and that's fine, you live in Canada.
Re: Tucson shooter obsessed with the movie 'Zeitgeist'
Why all the talk of gun control then?
Re: Tucson shooter obsessed with the movie 'Zeitgeist'
^Did you just wake up from a dream? There has been talk of gun control since I was a kid. The NRA is not going to ever let any type of real gun control ever happen in this country, it is way too late for that and too buried in the US culture, but I'm sure you know that. We will have way more gun violence than we should because of them, congrats Charleton Heston.
