Saudi King Abdullah has repeatedly urged the United States to attack Iran's nuclear program and China directed cyberattacks on the United States, according to a vast cache of U.S. diplomatic cables released on Sunday in an embarrassing leak that undermines U.S. diplomacy.
http://uk.reuters.com/article/idUKTRE6AR1AL20101129

http://wikileaks.org/
As described by German news weekly Der Spiegel, the cables contain tart comments such as a U.S. diplomat's description of German Chancellor Angela Merkel as someone who "avoids risk and is seldom creative."

Another document described by The New York Times cites a U.S. embassy cable raising the possibility that Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi may have had a romantic relationship with his Ukranian nurse, who is described as a "voluptuous blonde."
Looks like wikileaks moved their site to AWS since they kept getting DDOS'd, but Amazon pulled the plug earlier today and shut down their instances, so the site is now offline until they bring it back up somewhere in Europe.

Re: New Documents leaked - real diplomacy at work

Julian Assange: " I'm constantly annoyed that people are distracted by false conspiracies such as 9/11."

Julian wants us to forget about 9/11 and focus on these genuine "leaks" instead?

"War on terror, anybody?"

All I seem to be hearing and reading is that, the US military suck ass, the US government also suck ass, Iran is evil and so too is Pakistan.

The fact that MSM media is pushing this whole thing and isn't holding back, makes this 'wikileaks hollywood blockbuster stink to high heaven.

It's basically a call for more war and the continued and inevitable rot/demise of the US nation as a whole.

The US government has been constantly, relentlessly, shamelessly violated from within and with no end in sight.

The scumbags are at it again and as per usual, the losers will be the Americans and Arabs.

"Surprise, surprise."

Re: New Documents leaked - real diplomacy at work

Wait, now Julian Assange, a guy who is currently in hiding from the US gov't, Interpol, and Sweden is actually part of a larger conspiracy to promote continued US war against Iraq/Iran/Afghanistan? Good lord.

#1436697Post 11 of 86

Re: New Documents leaked - real diplomacy at work

How can you trust anyone with such high profile, calling 9 11, 'false conspiracies' ? This comment alone should be ringing alarm bells to any sane person out there.

Not even you yourself, believe in the "official" government version of events. And yet this guy is basically telling you to forget why 9/11 happened, how it happened and how we've gotten to where we are today. And instead, he asks us to focus on these "leaks" which basically tell us what we already know.

Arabs bad, Americans bad. Oh, and those pesky Turks are up to no good either.

Re: New Documents leaked - real diplomacy at work

 Looks like you are stepping in while RM is gone and filling his shoes quite well. What he is saying is basically: All of you morons who keep harping about false conspiracies need to STFU or GTFO because I have some real documents here to show you, so lets talk about something relevant instead.

Here's a hint: Why would a dude born in Australia (you did know he was an Aussie also right?) give a shit about working for or trying to help the US gov't? Especially after all of the shit he knew he would be getting into with all of these classified doc releases, especially with this rape charge which has been brought against him (which seems a bit shady to me, given the timing).
 Looks like you are stepping in while RM is gone and filling his shoes quite well.
C'mon reso, are you not capable of having a civilised discussion minus the the bullshit?
What he is saying is basically: All of you morons who keep harping about false conspiracies need to STFU or GTFO because I have some real documents here to show you, so lets talk about something relevant instead.
No reso, Assange was being very specific and stated, " false conspiracies such as 9/11." And if you don't take offence at being called a moron or being told to GTFO than good for you.

But don't expect others to feel the same way.

The very real 'conspiracy' that is 9/11, won't ever be layed to rest no matter how much they try to sweep it aside. The scumbags responsible for 9/11 or those who allowed it to happen, have yet to be brought to justice.

And until then, anyone who is willing to try and stop any truths from being exposed will be jumped on and held to account.
Here's a hint: Why would a dude born in Australia (you did know he was an Aussie also right?) give a shit about working for or trying to help the US gov't? I've never stated he works or even helps the US government for that matter, so I can't answer any of your unreasonable questions.

What I have stated is that I don't trust him and believe that whatever he has released, isn't really anything to get excited or up in arms about.

All they've basically revealed is that the US and Arabs are bad.

Re: New Documents leaked - real diplomacy at work

IMO your both wrong. The good thing about this is precisely what you think is nothing to get worked up over. You might "Think" or "know" that the "Arabs" and the US are "bad" but this is EVIDENCE. So the general public...the rabble of uninformed and uninterested idiots will get a slightly better understanding of how the world works and that....is enough.

#1436716Post 15 of 86

Re: New Documents leaked - real diplomacy at work

The whole thing with wikileaks is that he is releasing everything. It's for us to decide, he's just giving us the evidence. People will probably find what they want. He certainly isn't taking sides. I'm actually quite proud he is Australian. He is definitely going to pay , in fact is paying big time. !! In fact he is being jumped on from a great height :)

Btw If anyone ever does discover any evidence on 9/11 there is a good chance it would be given to him. It's probably the best chance for it to get out there. I think he is very brave, weird , but brave. :)

And Russia and China and Korea, et al. I'll add these to the list since they were conviently forgotten.

Re: New Documents leaked - real diplomacy at work

Is it really evidence, I mean would these documents stand up in court? The answer is of course, no.

It's claimed that Lebanese Prime Minister Hariri told US officials in 2006 to “go all the way if need be” to stop Iran's nuclear program.

And his response to this report was, “First, any suggestion that I said this is false,"“ "Second, Iran is a friendly country and we have always met with its ambassadors and all officials who came to Lebanon. And we reject any challenge to Iran.”

Love him or hate him Ahmedinajad hits the nail right on it's head,

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said earlier on Monday at a press conference in Tehran that the US administration had "released" the material intentionally.

"[The documents] have no legal value and will not have the political effect they seek," he added.

Ahmadinejad stressed that the WikiLeaks "game" is "not worth commenting upon and that no one would waste their time reviewing them."

Re: New Documents leaked - real diplomacy at work

They aren't being released as evidence to put the US on trial, nor were they ever purported to do so, maybe this is why you are sad.

Then how is this wikileaks, ooooops my bad. Must be some other folks.
And Russia and China and Korea, et al. I'll add these to the list since they were conviently forgotten.
Not at all, the other countries may get a mention but the real stars of this show are the Americans and Arabs. Folks in the US are being duped yet again and before you know it, you'll be sending off your army to invade another country, spending billions of dollars that you don't have and continue on watching the demise of your nation.

But you just go ahead and keep adding to that list.

Putin and other world leaders are well aware of what's going and it'll be business as usual for these guys. They also know who is behind these "leaks" and understand their agenda all too well.

The same people who believed in the big lie, "war on terror", are the very same suckers who are going swallow this whole wikileaks deception, hook, line and sinker.

History always repeats itself.

What kills me is how the various governments are livid over the release of the cables and notices, but are completely unwilling to address the issue of owning up to the various amounts of bullshit and chicanery they're been revealed as doing. Wagging the dog indeed.

Exactly...the thing is...whatever the motivation and who ever released this...it doesn't change the fact that its a fair analysis i.e. Russia is controlled in way which could be described as a "mafia state". That said I do not think it to be in ANY way worse to the system the US government has. Both are equally undemocratic.

Re: New Documents leaked - real diplomacy at work

One of the results of this in Germany is that the Office leader from Guido Westerwelle, the German leader of the FDP party was fired because of the information he gave away. I guess he is not the only one around the World lol. Majority of Germans think that it was good that Wiki Leaks released them but I am not so sure about it. As much as I like freedom of press, I am not sure if it should be up to anybody to decide to release such potentielly risky material. It can harm relationships between countries and I am sure more countries than the States do the very same kind of information research and use a frank language in internal documents. I think everybody has met somebody in their Life and thought he/she is a complete dork after five minutes and told a friend or colleague about it..what the diplomats do is the very same to me, only for a different reason. What I am wondering more is that the guy was able to get all those documents from their server without beeing caught because this can't have been a one minute action lol.

Re: New Documents leaked - real diplomacy at work

well, hopefully it will lead to all these idiots that are "voted" into powerful offices might actually have to be accountable for the bullshit that spews from their mouths.. of course it might put soldiers lives at risk, but how is that different from their lives already being at risk?

Believe me, with my attitudes I would have been one of those jumping on him from a great height if I believed there was any truth. in the claims. This is just so classic "shoot the messenger" happening here.

Btw if we get caught out it's just an embarrassment, these people in the top levels of diplomacy really should be more careful. Far greater consequences there!!
