Zeitgeist: Moving Forward

SYNOPSIS: Zeitgeist: Moving Forward, by director Peter Joseph, is a feature length documentary work which will present a case for a needed transition out of the current socioeconomic monetary paradigm which governs the entire world society. This subject matter will transcend the issues of cultural relativism and traditional ideology and move to relate the core, empirical "life ground" attributes of human and social survival, extrapolating those immutable natural laws into a new sustainable social paradigm called a "Resource-Based Economy".

THEATRICAL RELEASE - Zeitgeist: Moving Forward is planned to be released in 60+ countries and in 20+ languages starting January 15th 2011. This large scale release is not associated with any major distributor.

DVD/INTERNET RELEASE - This is a non-commercial project, which means it will be available for free acquisition via internet in both viewing form and full DVD download. ZeitgeistMovingForward.com will also have a physical $5.00 DVD available in mid to late January

lolwat? he was begging to get fired. you think that incident alone was enough to get him canned? how long do you think the peeps at cnn held on to him to show their 'multiculturalism and diversity' there before they just got tired of his shit? you do realize he killed a man while drunk driving? the very fact that he lasted that long is testament to the incorrectness of your position.

Re: Zeitgeist: Moving Forward | Official Trailer- [ Extended ]

I just watched this film.

IT"S THE BIGGEST STINKING PILE OF SHIT I'VE EVER WASTED MY TIME ON

except for the first part....that was kinda interesting.

but the rest. total utter horseshit.

this movie got so much wrong the director is criminally negligent in perpetrating stupidity into the minds of his cult followers.
I'm going to go out on a short limb and take your word for it regarding this flick
let me make an additional point since i've had some time to think about it. there are some decent ideas that can be gleaned from the movie, but unfortunately many of them are not possible at all. ever. the part about how fetuses react to environmental stimuli was one i think is very important for people to hear, whether they are intending on having children or not. i'm not sure how much truth there is to it, but the evidence seems to suggest there is a correlation at the very least (and causation which probably will never be proven, but i think people are smart enough to make up their own minds. also, the point about certain genes being triggered incident to external stimuli was also new to me - something i'll be thinking about more as i continue studying evo psych.

i also dig the concept of having a more efficiently planned city. the reason why i LOVE indianapolis is because it's set up in basically a perfect grid pattern with a large outer loop highway and a highway that cuts across the middle. unfortunately to achieve this would require the razing of a city and rebuilding it. i think the only place you could really make this happen would be in the midwest, or in africa or other undeveloped countries. there are plenty of practical problems with this model too that were not discussed, but i do value the forward-thinking of such an idea.

the main issue i do have is the MEANS to acquire such an end. essentially, the director asks us to throw away all of our money and become, i guess, subservient to binary calculations computed inside some giant machine that will distribute your needs according to what you should get. it's a hugely flawed idea and i could go on for sixty pages detailing why this is so. if you've ever seen Logan's Run, you'll probably understand what the director was shooting for in this third installation. (and that show was based on a guy trying to ESCAPE that city...lol).
I liked most of it but when it came to the scientific dictatorship it lost me. No thanks.
really? i thought you would have embraced that. hmmmm

waiting for vinnie to chime in.

Re: Zeitgeist: Moving Forward | Official Trailer- [ Extended ]

Haven't watched it yet myself...the concept sounds intriguing ("scientific dictatorship") but the enactment of something along those lines wouldn't surprise me. Life imitating art, as it were ("Brave New World," "1984").

As I said, I haven't watched this movie, but I have studied at length the affect of city planning, and external stimuli's affects on genes.

Having a family of politicians, I can only imagine the lengths at which this film takes in order to connect all of the above with some kind of NWO bologne.

It's ironic that this version is titled "Moving Forward" - to promote the idea that we abandon money and work and profit because they are 'evil' will inevitably be a great leap back in terms of human civilization.

ya he fails to mention that scientific corruption happens everyday. Like back in the 50's when doctors said cigarettes were good for you. Or Monsanto how they have totally corrupted the food industry.

The only problem today with capitalism is that these MegaCorps have a monopoly on everything. In every industry. Where is the last invention that came from a guy/gal in their garage/house that turned into a billionaire? Bill Gates/Larry Page there is only a couple now that have happened in the last decade. If true capitalism was at work you would be seeing one every few months.

There isn't any competition anymore.

ya exactly there is only a couple guys that come to mind in the western world when it comes to innovation. If true capitalism is at work you would see much more people getting rich - maybe not billionaire but there would be more people inventing products becoming multi millionaires. Now the multi millionaires are pretty much around WallStreet and that is it. With the population growth there should be millions and millions of people with the wealth not just the top 1%

Yep that sums up most of the British work force, they think its cool to be lazy, they resent anyone who is keen to do a job well and they fucking hate people who are good at creating solutions to problems.

The british work force would rather spend their working day talking about football and exchanging extreme porn or happy slapping videos on their mobile phones. Proud to be British, not a fucking chance.

More millionaires than Australians Taking stock of the world’s plutocrats

                  Jan 20th 2011 | from PRINT EDITION
MOST people would describe a dollar millionaire as rich, yet many millionaires would disagree. They do not compare themselves with teachers or shop assistants but with the other parents at their children’s private schools. To count the number of rich people in the world, however, an arbitrary cut-off point is needed, and $1m is as good as any. Capgemini, a consultancy, defines anyone with investable assets of $1m or more (excluding their home) as a “high-net-worth individual”, consultant-speak for rich. By this conservative measure the planet has about 10m millionaires, according to Capgemini and Merrill Lynch, a bank.

Re: Zeitgeist: Moving Forward | Official Trailer- [ Extended ]

It better grow, do you know that over 100,000 people hit the work force in the US every month? So what if there are a couple more people making 100k.. $100k is nothing. You are still considered to be lower middle class with $100k.

So i'm supposed to believe that the US and Canada have just gone retarded over the last decade and that is why we are in this mess? No it is because banks aren't lending money to medium to high risk startups and investors are holding on for dear life waiting for a sign that this mess is over.

10 million millionaires on a planet that has 7 billion people is hardly exciting. There should be 10 million millionaires in North America alone

By your logic Mariner everything is fine with the economy I guess

100k is lower middle class? by your logic, section 8 housing is equivalent to living in a stick hut in the sahara.

lettuce be coco puffs, what 'should' be, according to you, is a standard you've managed to pull out of your ass. why not 100 million? what about 9 million? again, out. of. yer. stankhole.

people don't become millionaires by getting a fucking loan. are you mental? am i asking this question seriously? is this real life?

high risk start ups are "HIGH RISK". meaning most of them fail. and even if they don't, and most high risk startups DO succeed, how does that gaurantee a million dollar paycheck? i know people who have built their businesses from the ground up, employee between 30 to 110 people, and at BEST, make roughly $500k a year.

are they middle class?

#1454956Post 33 of 43

Re: Zeitgeist: Moving Forward | Official Trailer- [ Extended ]

yes they are upper middle. there is nothing wrong with middle class. i'm just saying they aren't rich by any stretch of the imagination. making 500k a year is great i'm not knocking it. but the problem here is that middle class (aka small business) is being wiped out because of the MegaCorps and banks and corrupt politicians

what are you talking about 100 million and stankholes?

read rich dad poor dad.. they do get rich from getting loans

#1454967Post 34 of 43

Re: Zeitgeist: Moving Forward | Official Trailer- [ Extended ]

not everyone does. why do you have this view that everyone who either starts a business successfully or otherwise is gonna make a cool million a year? does this hold on forever? if people who run small businesses should be making a million per year, than that most CERTAINLY justifies the salaries of officers of corporations.

small businesses are being wiped out? maybe that's because you still haven't wrapped your head around the high rate of failure of small businesses.

and lettuce be golden grahams, businesses don't fail because of banks and corporations. they fail because consumers aren't willing to give them money (like any other business - or do you think they're too small to fail and banks should be forced to hand out small loans to nearly insolvent businesses much like they did to people with poor credit apropos the housing crisis - shit, maybe we can start a small business bubble while we're at it!)

#1454972Post 35 of 43

Re: Zeitgeist: Moving Forward | Official Trailer- [ Extended ]

I'm not saying that for sure you will get a cool mil a year.. i never said that. a millionaire is someone with a million bucks. i bet your buddy making 500k is a millionaire.

Where is all the money then Mariner?

and yes small bus does get wiped out everyday by MegaCorps.. Not only do they get wiped out but now you can't even get started without them because it requires so much capital just to get going. unless you are making pencils out of your garage

The investor is gone

Re: Zeitgeist: Moving Forward | Official Trailer- [ Extended ]

the other problem is education. the current schooling system doesn't teach you to think. it teaches you to do what your told. it limits creativity.

well if you're saying what people are 'saving' instead of 'earning', then fuck no. are you trolling? you realize how effin TERRIBLE our money management is in this country on an individual basis? so many people out there that don't even have even a thousand bucks in the bank.

everyone's living in the now. and not preparing for the future.

"WHERE'S THE MONEY LEBOWSKI?"

i'm not sure what you mean. are you suggesting that banks part with their money in high risk get-rich-quick schemes?

of course it takes money to make money. americans have, as i mentioned above, lost creativity, focus, drive, resilience, and patience to do any of that shit. perhaps the reason you're looking for why there are fewer small businesses is because the know-how is not there. you can't just look up 'how to start a business' on wikipedia and be capable of running a successful business from that.

most of the kids out there, i wouldn't even trust to run a cash register. call me an old timer, but fucks sake, i wouldn't trust them with a mop, much less the managing of a business.

#1454977Post 39 of 43
