Re: Executive Order - Lifestyle/Behavior Modification
People should have the ability to choose whatever they want to eat, however, this option should be eliminated in public schools. Sodas and shit food should not be sold to kids who are growing. The amount of sucrose and carbs a lot of these kids get is ridiculous. It predisposes them to later issues in life and if the parents don't give a shit, then we should, more or less because kids need to be healthy and not deteriorating their body. Whatever parents want to feed their kids outside of schools is their business.
Secondly, a lot of poor are overweight because the cheapest food happens to be the crappiest food loaded with all sorts of extra goodies that are not necessarily nutritional. The irony is that the most fresh produce (aka organic) is the most expensive. The only group of people these policies should be aimed toward are those on welfare. Those people should also be drug tested frequently.
I don't necessarily agree with your last statement. If this policy was directed toward poor people, it may provide an incentive which could catalyze the journey back to being healthy for a lot of these people. Not only would this diminish the number of people are grossly unhealthy, but healthcare overall could be cheaper.
