Among other things, the DEB grants your government the power to disconnect entire households from the internet if any member is accused -- without proof -- of infringing copyright.

Y'all ready?

Re: British MS'ers: DIGITAL ECONOMY BILL

Mariner I think it is totally valid that the government have complete . control of my life. They should tell me what to eat and what to watch. They should be allowed to cut off the internet to households in order to stop the terroists. I should also give my first born to fight in the army so that the military industrial complex can fight it's stupid wars around the world for profit.

:sarcasm:

Oh i heard about the Aussie filter. Can't say I know much about it. Can u fill me in?

I'm not sure where this will pass, or what's going to happen on it - it seems there's a growing rejection of the bill. Will try to update as news comes in.

It's supposed to be about blocking kiddie porn etc. But of course it won't work and we will suffer even slower speeds. Wikileaks published a list of black banned sites and there was even a dentist on it
