Re: everyone hates the jews
Part 2
First off we need to realise that the land that was originally offered under the Balfour Decleration and the British Manadate to the Jews was very different in size to the 1947 UN Partition plan. Between 1917 and 1947 the world seemed to forget that when the original plan talked of two states that those two states were actually Israel and Transjordan. After much appeasement of the Arabs by the British during the mandate years a third and altogether new state emerged - that of Palestine.
After two wars where Israel held her own she was attacked in June 1967 by her neighbours. Ruby more or less gets it right about the Gaza and West Bank with the exception that it was NOT Palestinian land, it was land which was occuppied by Jordan and Egypt. There was no Palestinian political structures at all.
Although some arabs fled what became Israel in 1948 the majority left under the promise by their brethren that once the great arab armies had defeated the zionist imperialist scum (paraphrashing here obviously) they could return home. They were forced into the areas of Gaza and the West Bank and later had a refugee agency set up for them by the UN. It should be noted that it was the norm at the time for host countries to intergrate refugees at the time, as it is today, and not keept them as seperate entities.
After the six day war when Israel defeated the armies of Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Egypt, it also occuppied three land masses. The Golan Height (from Syria which it later went on to annex) The Gaza Strip (from Egypt) and the West Bank (from Jordan). With it it also gain a 29 year old refugee problem.
Since then the land has been occupied by Israel.
Thats as near to unbiased as i can be, the following however is entirely biased.
There has never been a State of Palestine. There has never been a seperate Palestinian people. The term was created after the British fucked up their own mandate and wanted to appease the arab states. The Palestinian refugees you hear of today are as much as a responsibilty of Jordan then they are Israel, after all the orginial partition plan gave the arabs a sepereate state - Jordan.
The Palestinian people who have been kept under 'occupation' since 1948 have been used as a political tool by neighbouring arab states.
In 1948 there were 600,000 'arabs' who left their homes and moved into the West Bank and Gaza strip. After the State of Israel was declared there have been 600,000 Jews kicked out of arab states and re-housed in the State of Israel. If Jordan and Egypt has behaved correctly towards their refugees in 1948 we would not have the problems we have today.
But thats history.
So whats the future. Like or not, the only realistic future is a two state solution. One for the Jews and one for the 'Palestinians'.
Until the Oslo accords of 1993 (i think it was 1993) it didn't look like anything would change in the region. After Barak/Peres and Araft signed an accord to create an independent Palestinian state thinks looked as if they were going to get better. Israelis knew that realistically they could not hold onto the territories but would have to hand them over to Arafat and the new Palaestinian Authority. Since then every Prime Minister of my country has realised that.
When Barak made an offer to Arafat to hand over 95% of the west bank, all of the Gaza Strip and some 5% of Israel (in compensation to 5% of the west bank) Arafat rejected the offer and the current war of terror began.
Thats more or less it. . .
brakada, Cosmo comments about teaching young palestinian children songs about the murder of Israelis is not a piece of fiction as you very well know. Where Cosmo was slightly off, was that its not Hamas who are doing this is, it is in fact the Palestinian Authority through its schools and summer camps - there is enough evidence out there for you to find such footage.
As for you asking for credible sources to them, what do you call credible?I call video showing the songs being sang (with translations in english via professional translators) as credible enough.
As for Israeli extremists, they on the whole do not go round shooting innocent men women and children or blowing themselves up on buses. The biggest threat these Israeli extremists pose is to Israel itself. When ever Israel has found an israeli planning a terror attack or building bombs (the incidents you can count on two hands BTW) they have been arrested and imprisioned. Not like their Palestinian counterparts.
Ok too long, bit muddled in places, but there you go!
