Re: Obama Bombs Yemen
^I like how you conveniently leave out that these were al-Quaeda training camps...if you think we're not going to continue to take down al-Qaeda, you are gravely mistaken.
On orders from President Barack Obama, the U.S. military launched cruise missiles early Thursday against two suspected al-Qaeda sites in Yemen, administration officials told ABC News in a report broadcast on ABC World News with Charles Gibson.
One of the targeted sites was a suspected al Qaeda training camp north of the capitol, Sanaa, and the second target was a location where officials said "an imminent attack against a U.S. asset was being planned."
The Yemen attacks by the U.S. military represent a major escalation of the Obama administration's campaign against al Qaeda.
Re: Obama Bombs Yemen
Oh so you can bomb anybody can you??
You guys (Liberals) are scarier than the Neo-Cons.. Apparently you don't care about a countries sovereignty.
You guys are still chasing your tail. There hasn't been a terrorist attack in North America in nearly a decade. Man those sure are some patient radical extremists. Bombing Yemen and Pakistan is really going to get you guys in trouble. Afghanistan and Iraq are little pussy countries compared to Pak.
Also reports coming out of Yemen is that they were civilians and there were 43 of them.

If Yemen bombs a Saudi pipeline we are fucked. The price of oil will double overnight.

Re: Obama Bombs Yemen
it's true.. You guys are scarier. When Bush was doing it you called it stupid. But now that Obama is doing it you guys say he is getting the bad guys. Which is it?
You should see the pics of all the dead kids from that bombing and you tell me honestly that you are for it

The ancient Romans called Yemen Felix Arabia — Happy Arabia — for its advantageous spot on Middle Eastern spice routes. But modern day Yemen is anything but happy. Wednesday's attack on the U.S. embassy in Sanaa, Yemen's capital, is the latest sign of a growing al-Qaeda-inspired Islamic insurgency against the Washington-allied regime on the strategic southern tip of the Arabian peninsula.
The attack, which included an assault by heavily armed fighters and a car bomb, and left 16 people dead (including six of the attackers) is part of a long-standing pattern of incidents targeting the West and its allies, although no Americans were among Wednesday's dead. In 2000, al-Qaeda fighters rammed an explosives-packed speedboat into the U.S.S. Cole, killing 17 sailors and crippling the destroyer. A similar attack in 2002 against a French tanker sent 90,000 barrels of oil spilling into the Gulf of Aden.
Radical groups have taken advantage of Yemen's loosely knit tribal social structure to set up operational and recruiting bases in the country, according to terrorism experts. The country is awash in weapons, which are sold openly in urban markets known as gun souks. Its population of 22 million mired in poverty and illiteracy also provide a fertile recruiting ground for al-Qaeda. A French counter-terrorism official on a recent trip to Yemen was stunned to see the extent to which the country had become infiltrated by jihaddists.
Remote as it may seem, the collapse of security in Yemen poses a serious threat to stability in the Middle East and the Horn of Africa, and a challenge to U.S. efforts to fight al-Qaeda. The ancestral homeland of Osama bin Laden has been a major supplier of frontline fighters and suicide bombers deployed against America and its allies in Iraq and Somalia. The country also has a long border with Saudi Arabia, and sits on the eastern bank of the Bab al-Mandab, a narrow shipping channel that controls access to the Suez Canal.
Al-Qaeda operations in Yemen, in fact, are part of a long-term plan for the group to shift operations out of Iraq, according to Dr. Hasan Zaarour, a professor of Middle East and Africa Affairs at Lebanese University in Beirut. Yemen is a natural bridge into Africa, and its networks extend into the wider Middle East — the first al-Qaeda cell in Lebanon was started by a Yemeni. "Yemen has always exported terrorists through the Middle East," Zaarour says. "And they always introduce their presence with a big strike." — With reporting by Bruce Crumley in Paris and Rami Aysha in Beirut Read more: http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1841951,00.html#ixzz0aMQWpyJE

you guys are going to lead us to WW3.. When does it stop Toasty?? War is not the answer.
I don't get your point Florida are you saying becasue I posted a link from ABC that the bombing never happened?
Time magazine has Ben Bernanke as "Person of the Year" ok that is how reliable that outfit is. They are the creme of the creme when it comes to propaganda. I mean how many times has Obama been on the cover 15 times?? So if propaganda is real. Then Time would be the biggest right?
Re: Obama Bombs Yemen
^Not right, Obama is a highly marketable figure for 100's of reasons...
On a side note, what part of Canada do you live in? Is it a Big, medium, small town / providence? Just curious.

All you have to do is mention the suspected and everything seems legit don't it.
Once again, innocent civilians of another sovereign nation have been deliberately murdered by the US.
When is this madness going to stop? The US government is deliberately creating enemies and putting it's own citizens at risk at home and abroad.
Obama also has blood on his hands and it won't be long before he too, will be labelled a war criminal. It's just a matter a time.
Re: Obama Bombs Yemen
you know runningman, you certainly stir the shit constantly, and i really try not to get into political debates at all because basically its a big fuckin waste of time, nothing is EVER going to change regardless of who or what party is in office, 99.99999% of these problems in the world are over religion and money, and people are never going to change their views on either of those two things..
but, you come across like you have all the answers, but i never see you give any sort of idea for a resolution.. so whats your angle? and this "you guys" crap is really fuckin annoying too, lol
Re: Obama Bombs Yemen
I think it is important to argue and voice ones opinion. Let's you know you're alive and a free man.
I mean why avoid it. I want to hear what Steve Graham has to say. Maybe I will agree or maybe I won't. It isn't a waste of time. I learn shit all the time from talking to people on the internet or in person.
Re:
this "you guys" crap is really fuckin annoying too
Fully agreed, Steve! I don't ever recall ordering troops into a country or bombing anyone. Just because a administration controling such activities conducts missle drills doesn't mean that I, personally, agree/disagree with or actually pushed the button, so to speak.
Re: Obama Bombs Yemen
Canada...hah! Like your opinion counts. Go buy your 20 dollar a pack cigarettes and eat your ketchup flavored chips. You will soon join the U.S. when we decide we need your land. Ha Canada oh boy...
Re: Obama Bombs Yemen
I really thought Obama would set a different course. How hard is it to realize that for every person you kill with a bomb, you will leave thousands of people filled with hate against you.
Re: Obama Bombs Yemen
you guys need to take more responsibility for your actions. "You guys" is exactly that. Your poor attitude of "What can I do?" and "Nothing will change" is the problem.
Whether you like it or not you are a part of the USA. Do you think a pakistani terrorist can see the difference when his family has just been murdered by your bombs??

I don't have a lot to say, I also don't come across as I know everything either, I was asking a simple question, that as per normal you avoided or just don't have an answer. It's easy to sit there pounding on your keyboard pointing out everything that evil empire does wrong, but coming up with any sort of solution is a completely different story right? ;)
my time and life is to precious to get caught up in things/issues that I CAN'T CHANGE.. and anyone that's honestly thinks they can is sadly mistaken.. look at history over 1000's of years, what makes you think things will magically change and people will stop caring and or dying for their religion and money?
so pissing and moaning and pointing fingers about issues I dont care about and people 1000's of miles away that I couldn't give a shit about (I'm talking about the religious freaks) isn't high on my list of priorities.. and before you say anything, I don't care if they give a shit about me either. I dont want all these innocent people dying, so that's not what I'm saying.. but these people choose to live in these fucked up countries, so deal with the consequences imo
Re: Obama Bombs Yemen
^^Amen to all of that, Steve.

I've read and enjoyed many of your posts over the years, but your last comment really surprised me and in a bad kinda way.
Oh well, lucky you.
Re: Obama Bombs Yemen
^ sounds like a PM opportunity to me :Who:.
Re: Obama Bombs Yemen
you cant just take one sentence from a post as long as what i just wrote and expect it not to sound a bit off, lol, that's really not fair.. i understand there are plenty of people that probably cant do anything about where they live, but the big picture is a lot of people can change their circumstances but choose not to.. at the end of the day whatever is going in this world now is the culmination of 1000's of years of fuck ups by people with way too much power and money, and expecting it to change in our lifetime let alone less than 12 months after the president took office is absolute ignorance
the sad thing is, RM probably thinks he is part of the solution by constantly pointing this stuff out, when in all actuality it's people like him that are a bigger part of the problem than people that just want to get on with their lives.. I'm sure you mean well, but it doesn't do anybody any good.. and this section is a microcosm of a lot of the problems in this world, too many people are too quick to point out what everyone else is doing wrong, but no one seems to have any sort of solution :)
Re: Obama Bombs Yemen
I just expected more from the Democrats and Obama. He promised to bring home the troops and he didn't deliver. I am also sick of Democrats who were so anti-Bush because of his wars but now that Obama is doing it, it is ok. That's all.
Re: Obama Bombs Yemen
i understand that mate, trust me, it all makes me sick.. i'm not attacking you at all, just asking questions.. with a bit of an attitude yes, but questions none the less
i was watching some shows about the planet and its natural wonders, that sort of thing really puts all this into perspective and how in the grand scheme of things, humans are really not as relevant as some of us think we are.. but this planet is being destroyed by the those same people unfortunately.. thats a whole different thread i know, i just wanted to let you know where I am coming from

The difference between America and France.....
When we have 15% unemployment it is called the disaster of our generation.
For France, 15% unemployment is an unattainable utopia.
