It's now official. Much of the hype about global warming is nothing but a complete scam.

Thanks to hackers (or an insider) who broke into The University of East Anglia's Climatic Research Unit (CRU) and downloaded 156 megaybytes of data including extremely damaging emails, we now know that data supporting the global warming thesis was completely fabricated.

I was wondering why the language changed from "global warming" to "climate change." Now I know why. They knew the world was going to cool by the sun spots, so they changed the language. What is funny is that when you say you are against "climate change" people think you are pro-pollution..:lol:..morons.

It's not that, it's that I feel like it's become such a partisan issue that there is a certain segment of the population that ignores the many, many good reasons to live more green lifestyles that have nothing to do with global warming and may very well clear-cut a rainforest out of spite because it would piss off the left. It reminds me of [URL="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68815"]this post[/URL] about the "Hour of Power," where wingnuts turned on everything in their house to counter "Earth Hour."

As an aside, there is certainly some troubling stuff in those emails that were stolen, and there ought to be an investigation into what they were doing. To extrapolate these out-of-context statements from one organization into the conclusion that everything that we know about global warming is a sham is a bit of an overreach, though.

Oh I agree we should live leaving less of a footprint.. But this sounds like more of a reason to tax people. If the governments around the world really cared they would focus more on quality goods rather than cheap chinese stuff. Our consumption on crappy products is the real problem.

Ahh its from the University of East Anglia. It all makes sense now. The whole country is run on bullshit, people who can't be bothered to do their job properly, falsifying documentation because they cant be bothered with putting in the leg work. This sort of behavior is a large part of British culture.

The credibility of the email has not been verified and you can guarantee one thing, they wont be. I wonder whose funding the research. One thing you know for sure there won't be any accountability.

I never believed that climate change was a hoax but I have to admit Christopher Monckton raises some great points about how the data was obtained and presented. Particular if he his right any the scientists and researchers have missed out the Medieval Warm Period.
