Many people will be against this even though its been coming for years. They'll see it as Big Brother as mentioned. Religious people will point to the Bible in Revelation where the 666 symbol in your right hand or forehand will be required to be part of society.

I could foresee nationalized health care passing and all citizens required to get the chip to receive health care services.
