Hi guys.

My question What do you think about Vladimir Putin and Russia's people and about Russia :!:

thanks for the replies,guys :)

#314294Post 2 of 41

I have never had a problems with Russians. I am from old Soviet Block coountry ... so we are all brothers in one way. I really have not been back to the good old USSR since the fall of commie pinkos.

Putin. I think he is a very powerful guy, and from what I know seems to have his head on straight. He most recent quote in regards to USA and the war on terror was spot on. Personally I like the guy, he really reminds of an x-kgb member.

dirty commies.

go live in your bleak existence.

j/k of course. nothing bothers me about the place. i actually admire thier intense way of handling enemies. no bullshit, just infiltrate and eliminate before the shit hits the fan. well, at least thats the impression i get.

Personally, I don't have any issues with Russians...

But they really screwed their economy up by allowing certain people to effectively take over the national industries instead of the 'privatisation' that should have occurred.

Putin remains incredibly authoritarian and seems to have little time for democracy. And he cites Chechnya as his mandate to do as he wishes... :?

Agree with Mixu, Putin definitely has a different view on democracry than we we have. H's heading towards an authoritarian kind of regime, look at what's happening with Yukos. I don't believe for a minute that that is not political.

But I do admire the zero-tolerance policy they have towards terrorism ad stuff like that, if only they didn't use it against Chechnya. And somehow I still have the impression that the power of the police forces and judicial system are very much concentrated in the Urban area's. Moscow doesn't seem to have a firm grip on the whole of the country.

Russia is a lose a cannon.. ever since it was the USSR til now is still corrupt.. I wouldn't trust anything that they say.. now they have a bomb what we want card because of the "fight on terror".. i don't think they are a real threat to us yet but you can count on one thing is that they are in it for themselves.. they don't care about humanity, world ppeace.. just don't fuck with there shit and they won't fuck with yours..

Re: What do you think about Russia!!!

I don't think Putin and his anti-terrorist troops are very good at handling situations. Just look at the horrible tradegy at Beslan (340 hostages died almost half children), the moscow theater seiges (100 hostages died in '03, 130 in '02) or the hospital seige in '95 where it was handled or (mishandled) by the same anti-terrorist group which gas stormed the theater in '03 (166 hostages died). Some of you said you admire his swift handle of threats but I can't really see the delicate "handle with care" edge. Seems more like a "get 'er done before it blows up in the media" resulting in blowing up in their faces instead. IMO, they're just another country benefiting from this war-on-terror agenda, and getting away with atrocities while the world is focused on Iraq.

and i'd like to second the comments made about the corrupt industries and mention the huge gap between the rich and the poor and how the vast majority of the country is being exploited.

#314705Post 18 of 41

i think that some other state didn't solve this problem with anti-terrorist better

 Gorbachov? i thought Eltsin was since 1992

I'm russian and i'm really sad about what i see on russian TV, makes me wonder how people can believe in that bullshit. No fucking free mass media. And it's so obvious that the most part is lie. That sucks. They can only speak about terror (administration), but no fucking real actions to prevent every year terror attacks. Will see what will be in the autumn again and what he will say, again about international terrorism, again about war, again about dignity and other bs. He just sucks, since 2000 what he has done? of course he stabilized economy, but every idiot can sell oil and gas, just don't take to much for yourself. And last events in Ukraine, why the fuck they tried to do something there, they still think that Ukraine is part of Russia? Everyone has right to chose, i was really afraid and still afraid that after these elections all Ukranians will look on us as on enemies just because of bunch of idiots on the top of the country. I am sure Putin's team will be more than 10 years there, maybe even more, if he will not be presiden for the third time he will find a heir.

#314933Post 25 of 41

you are dreaming if you think that Russia has anything on the USA.. You haven't been around for a while have you?? Russia is a joke compared to the USA and China..

#314962Post 26 of 41

Yeah China is really moving forward very quick even with communist party, they work hard.

I don't think that USA has good level of life because of no wars and that clever people go to there. It's about mentality. Clever people can be everywhere, Russia has really good theory science, we have really huge cultural heritage in literature. But that doesn't help us to piss out of toilet, drink vodka in gallons and beat each other everywhere. I speak at all, i have some really top guys friends and girls in Russia, but sometimes i am just shoked there from the whole masses. And yes, we have very big differences between people, poorness spoiled people. But anyways, i like to go home every summer, it's much more fun for me there and i still feel comfortable there.

Russia has indeed very sophisticated technology, they just don't have the money. Maybe Putin shoudl concentrare on getting the Russian economy strong, but instead he's only focusing on terrirorial issues (Chechnya) an political issues outside Russia's borders. Let Chechnya separate itself, let Ukraine be governed by Yuschenko. The smaller Russia is, the easier it gets to reconnect it to the global market.

Though I don't know about Putin's aspirations. He doesn't seem to be orientated at reconnecting Russia, but maybe Russia has too many problems at the moment...?

And the vodka keeps you warm in the winter huh? (I sometimes drink Ursus or Smirnoff. Or both  )
Let Chechnya separate itself, let Ukraine be governed by Yuschenko. The smaller Russia is, the easier it gets to reconnect it to the global market.
Through Chechnya go oil pipes from Kaspian sea. And it's too late now, chechens that had power before at least were educated, they studied in russian universities, it was possible to talk with them, but fucking alcoholic Eltsin failed everything, now there are animals like Basaev, but ofcourse some solutions can be found. And if let Chechnya to go out, other regions like Dagesta, Ingushetiya can also want independance. Btw caucause war goes for couple of centuries back

I also drink sometimes vodka, especially in Russia, because everyone drinks it there, in my town club - 2 vodka + one juice = 1 euro - good price, heh
