^^^ that was a depressing few thought posts!!!!

on the flip side, i met someone randomly who turned about to be really reliable and true to their word - about a range of things and meetings, and put themselves out when they didn't have.
I was surprised (which is depressing) but pleased cos it still can happen!

I would agree...to an extent. The main thing in life is to know what to expect from people that surround you. You will have 5-10 friends and the rest are people you think you know...so just make sure that people who you let in are friends the rest are just acquaintances. If you think about it...its pretty naive to assume that you will make a true connection with everyone you come across in life...there is simply not enough time to stay close to everyone and follow the way their personality evolves.

problem with 21st century is most people mistake the terms "friends" from people they know after spending what little time they can during their busy schedules. time for friends starts to vanish when you get married and almost disappears when you get kids. most true friendships are the ones cemented until you graduate from college, everyone after that is a passing phase (of course there will always be a few exceptions).
