Peaceful??

Do you have any idea what in Allah's name your talking about? I can only hope not.

Good riddance to bad rubbish. Now hopefully maybe his billion $$ forture can go somwhere worth while, like maybe to his own people since most of it is rightfully theirs. But no, his 25 yo wife will probably get it all.

#298119Post 11 of 41

they should have shot him the minute he got off the helicopter.. make sure he was dead.. rewing what r u talking about peaceful?? He started the group hamas who strapps bombs on little boys and kills jews or the closest people to him.. Glad to see him go.. Rest in Hell Motherfucker!!

runningman, although i dont necessarily disagree with the sentiments of your post, you have a factual inaccuracy. Arafat never started Hamas. Hamas was founded as a reaction against Arafat, and all those that were with him in Tunisia in the late 80's.

However, Arafat was incharge of the PLO and Fatah (and therefore the al-aqsa brigade) and indeed can be held responsible for many acts of murder.

#298130Post 13 of 41

sorry i got the name wrong.. there are so many groups out there now i can't remember who is in charge of what.. Either way glad to see him go..

i try to be reasonable. the man did many things in this life that are just out right hideous. we should be judged by our accomplishments in life not our ignorance and hate towards an issue. he did nothing except spill more blood and pump more hate into an issue that has been very sensitive to many types and races of people for a long time.

sure spilling blood satisfies a instant gratification of justice, but in the long run it is not close to any resolution.

BOTH MAIN PARTIES ARE HIGHLY GUILTY OF THIS ACTION, ... SOME MORE, ... SOME LESS.

word. clinton launched missles, bush sent the army. both did some screwed up shite. and i was part of it in a few countries. operation joint force and the middle east were truly fucked up/

#298156Post 16 of 41

^^ how were you part of it? what service are you in? just curious...

#298167Post 17 of 41

i have a lot of respect for any man or woman from the service. you can not compare the real world and the world of death and life.

there is no chance to think of something as home or as politics when you have 50 caliber bullets shattering buidings around you. it is at that moment and time, you only care about not spiling your own blood.

respect.

#298169Post 18 of 41

how poetic :P

couldnt have put it better.

i was army, 173 airborne, but went into ranger unit that was involved in advanced scouting and site prep work. then i got hurt. so i got out.

#298172Post 20 of 41

^^ :Respect: .. you helped make the world a safer place.. and i thank you..

poetic doesn't deserve to be under this topic though.. arafat doesn't deserve it.. he was a murderer and the world is a better place with him not in it..

#298178Post 21 of 41

it's fucking true.

we have no clue how "good" we have it. there are people out there that fight for every second of their life, all over the world, male, female, and the worst part ... children.

Re: Yasser Arafat Pronounced Dead

no worries mate, it was someone i wanted to do, it just makes me sick and i feel disgraced that I, as well as everyone else in the 4 branches that operate overseas, fought and risked ourselves for these assholes who create sites like sorryeverbody and the like. they dont know what living in a bad palce is like. im sure some of our euro members can relate what happened on that side of the world a little better. people still fight everyday to maintain the rights you have and to spread your rights throughout the world, but you talk shit about your own country. if I had a choice i would ship them all on a cargo plane to an undevelpoed country and let them fight to have it their way. its sickening and its really getting to me lately. :? :(

#298192Post 24 of 41

^^ couldn't agree more..and i am canadian and i feel i appreciate you soldiers because my pussy country right now won't get involved and it is really starting to piss me off. How could the UK and the USA go to war and Canada not.. it doesn't make any sense.. i am just glad Chretien is out of power here and hopefully our new one Paul Martin can face reality and support our closest countries.. the canada name holds a lot world wide.. if canada supported this war then a lot more of europe would support it as well..

#298196Post 25 of 41

^not a typical canadian afterall eh runningman? 8)

and super sad.

#298429Post 29 of 41

i like what t-shirt hell has to say about this:

Yasser Arafat is dead. Do not be alarmed. There is still plenty of room left in Hell. When you die, perhaps you can be his roommate and you can have wacky adventures together, maybe even double team Mother Teresa?

#298539Post 30 of 41

It isn't possible to judge and say what your country should or shouldn't do because at the end of the day we only see what is given to us on television and that is knowhere near enough to make a judgement especially when it has to do with war and whose at fault......

Ararfat has passed away now and his life is over just like ours will be one day so there is not much good in saying he's shit a murderer etc etc etc cause whats done is done and really you just have to look around you and there are bad people everywhere its just the ones we see on television are the people the "Media" wants us to seee!!!!

My 40cents worth:)

#298546Post 31 of 41

Maybe he was target of a political assasination- cause of death still unknown... but probably just caught something.

Thank one of his OWN cabinet members for his death! Finally, that hideous terrorist is out of the picture. His revolutionary style method of ruling is outdated, and long past its due. He funneled hundreds of millions of dollars given to him from the UN including 200 million a year from the US to accounts around the world, only beknown to his disingenuous slutty wife. All this while his own people starved and continue to be supressed by their OWN political strife. That whole situation is a cluster fuck because of the lack of education and propaganda by their OWN government. You see the trend here. Arafat gave up the one chance to have it their way, an offer most could not concievably think anyone in that situation would turn down...Arafat turned down....the OSLO PEACE ACCORDS. And they just continue to suffer while Arafat is writing the check to the families of the suicide bombers, and now after his death the very money intented to help rebuild Palestine and help them develop their own state, Arafats wife now receives to keep up "with her lifestyle"...to the tune of 22 Million per year....ALL international aid money for Palestine. Burn in hell you lip twitching son of a bitch! Now the world can move forward with REAL peace nogotiations. But lets face it folks, you all saw the news with all those palestinians at the burial...doesnt exactly strike you as the kind of group hoping to start a democracy.

#299188Post 33 of 41

Hamas parading in the streets carrying mock coffins with American and Israeli flags draped over them does not strike me as peaceful. Sad thing is they still worship the man, because these people are manipulated from they day they are born. As in Saddams case, we shall never know how much money Arafat took from his people, because he hid the money in several swiss accounts. That money, could have completely turned around the slums in Gaza yet it went towards his lavish lifestyle. Before Lebanon, Arafat lived a life of exile... basically traveling around the globe by jet because nobody would allow them into their country. He even used to goto Bethlehem every Christmas to act as if he actually cared and believed in Jesus- to satisfy whom? When he settled in Palestine, he continued his bloody cause at the expense of his own people. Say what you want about this man finally seeing death. He deserved to burn in hell twenty years ago.

#299231Post 34 of 41

I read this week in the newspaper that he owned up to $900 MILLION...I was astonished!

If that is true, than he has fucking ripped off his own people more than anyone could have imagined...

#299299Post 35 of 41

True indeed Balanc & Yao, very true indeed. Arafats death is a monumental stepping stone for world peace, and the middle east.. But Balanc hit the nail in the head, these guys are being minipulated and deceived since birth, until that changes from the top leadership...not much will change.

May his soul rest in peace I hope this does not bring a stop to the peace initiative taken by the leaders of that region. It is very important for the survival of all who are incharge to make sure that the RIGHT person is brought forward who will finally lead his people to a peaceful Life

Arafat's death can only lead to a better life for millions of Palestinians. Whilst the peace process has never been plain sailing, with much distrust from both sides, the one stumbling block has always been Arafat.

Hopefully the new PA leadership can find the hundreds of millions Arafat has hidden in private accounts around the world and begin to redistribute it to the Palestinian people where it belongs.
MAG: Arafat Skimmed $2 Million a Month From the Gas Trade Sun Nov 14 2004 09:53:40 ET

New York -- Last year auditors discovered Arafat was guilty of skimming $2 million a month from the gasoline trade in the territories, TIME reports.

In August 2002 international donors forced Arafat to sign over his investments to the Palestine Investment Fund, which was audited by U.S. accountants and managed by Palestinian Finance Minister Salam Fayyad, a former International Monetary Fund official. After scouring corporations throughout the Arab world and bank accounts in the Cayman Islands and Luxembourg, the auditors identified $800 million, which has been made a part of the Palestinian Authority?s official budget. ?It?s the most successful financial reform in the Arab world,? Jim Prince, president of the Los Angeles?based Democracy Council and head of the audit team, tells TIME.

People close to Fayyad?s investigation told TIME of Arafat?s skimming from the gas trade. Breaking the gasoline smuggling and corruption boosted the Palestinian Authority?s official treasury by $10 million a month and cut gas prices for ordinary Palestinians.

?Arafat?s death means his followers may never know just how much more they may be owed,? writes TIME?s Matt Rees in ?Where?s Arafat?s Money?? In the mid-1990s, Arafat controlled a financial empire worth at least $3 billion. By the time of his death, he was down to his last $1 billion, according to Israeli-intelligence estimates.

Arafat wife Suha?s outburst that his successors were ?trying to bury [him] alive? came after she learned that Arafat had signed over at least $800 million to the government of the Palestinian Authority two years ago, TIME reports. Top Palestinian officials say Suha wants the new chief of the P.L.O., Mahmoud Abbas, and Palestinian prime minister Ahmed Qurei to give her money out of the P.L.O.?s party coffers. But a senior P.L.O. official tells TIME, ?they?ll pay her a pension, and that?s it.?

People familiar with Arafat?s finances say the Palestinian leader sent Suha $200,000 a month out of the Palestinian Authority?s budget for the Office of the President. French authorities are investigating transfers of $15 million from Swiss banks to Paris accounts in Suha?s name at the Arab Bank and at BNP Paribas Bank, a French bank, TIME reports.

Senior Palestinian security officials tell TIME that Arafat also shipped money to the gunmen of the Aqsa Martyrs Brigades.
I hope his death will mark a new beginning for the Palestinian people. They've suffered so much.
