Re: and its michael steele

More me-tooism coming from Republicans now because their own ideas are bankrupt. However, they pretty much had to pick him if they didn't want to immediately cement themselves as the party of southern racists (that's pretty much set in stone anyway, but the concrete hasn't dried yet).

Superficial pick IMO, just like Palin was.

Re: and its michael steele

Wouldn't it be reasonable to say that Rush Limbaugh is the real leader of the Republican Party right now. From what I gather, he is the consolidation of Republican conservative philosophy. When the Republicans don't hold the presidency, more from the party turn to him than to any other voice within the party.

Does Michael Steele hold more of the old-skool conservative ideals, i.e. people like Pres. Ford, Buckley, even Goldwater than the Newt Ginghrich, Rush Limbaugh, & Michael Savage "new conservatives?" You know, the conservative ideals without being adulterated by Evangelical anti-everyone-but-them dogma. Without an already established platform behind a new chairperson, this new direction is dead in the water. Too bad there isn't someone like a Bobby Jindal without a job right now.

Re: and its michael steele

maybe, but i think there are a large group of republicans who are dying to find a leader who departs from the limbuagh/cheney way of thinking and simply want to move into the conservative governement without the religious/fear mongering aspect of the GOP. hopefully, there will be a mass influx into the liberatarian party with the asinine haphazard ways of the republicans and democrats, two parties who who couldnt organize a consistent thought without massive infighting and dollar grabbing incident. micheal savage... uh, why is he even a topic of conversation.... that guy is VILE. he should be hung for crimes against the american public and inciting evil. that fuck shouldnt even be spoken about.

Did you know his real name is not Michael Savage -- he was born Michael Weiner. In fairness to him, I might consider changing my name, too, if my last name was Weiner, but "Savage?" Dude has anger issues...

If you're never read up on his background, check out this link -- really funny to see where this gay-bashing, liberal hating dude came from. For example, who would have thought that he would have skinny-dipped with Allen Ginsberg?
