Re: Celebration!

your eagerness and sincerity towards the presidential campaign has definitely been infectious (in a good way) .... at least for me. Will drink to the commander-in-chief for sure.

I really enjoy reading your commentary, it made me think profound thinks.. especially when im stoned. ;)

like the way pres bush views his job, in the other thread.. what his impression LOOKS LIKE. such as "clearly putting mission accomplished on any aircraft carrier...." etc fantastic

Re: Celebration!

Speaking of celebration, anyone notice how excited Bush looked coming out that tunnel for the inauguration? I would guess he's thinking how glad he is to get the hell out of that job and back to Texas.

And I'm sure Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, Savage, and other conservative pundits are excited to have someone to attack and help their book sales and ratings. Too bad for comedians as Bush was such an easy target.

Re: Celebration!

someone mentioned how excited bush looked. if i were bush, i'd be extatic too. now he can go to his ranch and lay low and get away from the limelight and the crazy anti-bush haters like cindy sheehan for a while.

i will say obama gave a good speech yesterday, which didn't really surprise me. i am anxious to see how he handles things and all i can do now is hope he knows what he's doing. hope you had fun last night, toasty. you definitely put a lot of effort into this election.

Re: Celebration!

I'm certainly glad its Obama and not McCain but to be honest I think its early for any kind of celebration...give him 2-4 years and then MAYBE I will drink to celebrate his presidency ...

before you start bitching fuck off everyone
I think you should just STFU and let the black communities across the nation have their moment of happiness. Things are hard enough, and soon it will be back to business as usual. Let them have their moment.

Yes, Obama is technically half white. But maybe you should remember that it was the white people in this nation who a long time ago even went so far as to set up laws saying that if you even had one drop of black blood in you, you were "black" and that was that - you were cattle, inferior, unequal. Let's face it, racist whites don't give you credit for being "half-white", and Obama certainly looks black enough to be hated by any white racist. Maybe you should also recognize that there are still many black people who personally remember not even being allowed to drink from the same drinking fountains or use the same restrooms as you and me. Yesterday certainly had some real significance when you look at the history of our nation.

No one is saying that everything that black people do is great and that they don't face problems. But you couldn't even just give them that one day, could you? You just had to piss on their parade and get in one more dig on the black community. That says a lot about you. And by now no one's listening anymore to what you claim about not being racist, etc.

Of course not -- but that doesn't mean it's worth my effort to respond further. Besides, Miro already did a pretty good job.
