I've been reading all this thread and I thank those who took the time to give some well written and informative answers. Here in Switzerland, some 7 months ago people were doing extreme snowboard way out of season in the middle of the summer, something not seen for centuries (plains of snow in mid summer, not snowboard). Also, more than 15 species have gone extinct in the last 10 years. Whatever you want call it, we have surely altered the parameters of nature. "The work of a small plant is the labor of millions of years". And humanity is but a child, everyone is talking about saving the environment but the environment will survive, its about saving our selves.

runningman. you do realize that extreme pressure differences between air masses creates even more harsh weather. That's just the basics of meteorology. So yes, warming could affect the circulation cells which in turn how cold and dense an air mass is in comparison to a warmer air mass.

I will add though that any sort of carbon tax is pathetically stupid.
