Only one more electoral vote to go. Wow...let me tell you, I didn't think it was gonna be this easy. With the whole debate thing and the prevailing "Anyone but Bush" mentality I've seen around the country I was starting to have my doubts. No more...America has spoken.

#290796Post 2 of 74

I don't get it...someone who didn't win the popular vote in 2000, had a job approval rating under 50% before the election, now will get roughly 2+ million MORE votes in the popular vote and assure the 270-electoral vote...

WTF is WRONG with this country...

#290797Post 3 of 74

Say what you want...your view is obviously in the minority.

#290798Post 4 of 74

I know...it's just mind boggling sometimes. This country is apparently into the belief of "security" from "terrorism" at the expenses of deficits, wars, and recessions.

#290799Post 5 of 74

When has there not been a deficit and what recession????

#290800Post 6 of 74

well, the surplus at the beginning of the Bush presidency...not much, but a surplus nonetheless....but also now a very huge deficit after 4 years, and the economy isn't exactly as good as it was some years back either...

funny how not every network atm is calling for Ohio...

#290801Post 7 of 74
...and the economy isn't exactly as good as it was some years back either...
We also weren't just getting out feet back under us from 09/11 last election either.

#290803Post 8 of 74

true, but with the way things are going on that account, I just don't think Bush is the answer...I will tip my hat if we DO get back on our feet ok and things are relatively fine from that point. I won't deny that either.

I'm leaving this country. I graduate in one year. I will be gone in a year and a half.

#290806Post 11 of 74

^^Did you really think Kerry was that much popular than Gore? It was all about the media, and the hollywood politicians that hyped it up for all of us. Sad because the Hollywood spin is the reason the world hates America so much.

#290807Post 12 of 74

^^to a degree, but you don't need to be popular to win the Presidency

#290809Post 13 of 74

It's 7am, I just woke up... someone decided to burn down one of the buildings in my apartment complexes. I shit you not there are 100 firetrucks here- and all the news trucks are ligned up on the main road. It's a big deal 'cause this place is owned by the University. No word if its arson yet.

#290810Post 14 of 74

this is a real sad day....I just can't believe this. I guess America as a whole is becoming as stupid as dubyah himself.

digusted.

Funny...someone in Hollywood with a comment like that. Go figure.

#290816Post 16 of 74

what exactly do you need help figuring out?

#290824Post 17 of 74

Nothing is over yet. As was said from the very beginning, Ohio will absolutely be key. The exit polls from Ohio all had Kerry up by about a 3% margin. All of a sudden the results are showing Bush up by 2%?

Flat out, it sounds fishy to me. As some of you may remember, the head of Diebold promised in a fund-raising letter to give the state of Ohio to Bush- http://www.commondreams.org/headlines03/0828-08.htm

No way Republicans will steal another election. Not after last time.

#290829Post 18 of 74

^^^indeed...lol FOX still keeps Ohio for Bush...go figure

Enjoy the next 4years.

Fox shouldn't even be called news in my opinion.

#290833Post 21 of 74

#290834Post 22 of 74

Everyone really needs to chill out until things are at least semi-settled. Nothing is over yet. There are going to be a massive amount of lawyers sent out to Ohio and Iowa to make sure every vote is counted, counted correctly, and that no shenanigans went on.

And for god's sakes, don't turn it to Fox News.

#290836Post 23 of 74
Enjoy the next 4years.
Oh, I will. After all, it was one of my votes that helped it come about. I accept full responsibility.
And for god's sakes, don't turn it to Fox News.
Oh I'm not, but I want to hear them "declare" Bush the winner to then have it blow up in their faces...  :Naughty:

#290844Post 26 of 74

People seem to think that Bush will protect his country from terrorists - maybe he'll do his best to do that, but only the threat that he has created himself by terrorising other countries in the first place - Kerry might not be such a good war time leader, but he wouldn't cause the need for war that Bush has. As much as I dislike Kerry and his policies - America would be a much safer place with him in charge.

#290859Post 27 of 74

A sad sad day indeed

The world as we know it is going to end, mark my words. He already fucked it up terribly in 4 years, God only knows what he is going to do in another 4 years Bush's scare tactics seem to of worked i guess, you all shit you're pants

#290877Post 28 of 74

If Bush takes Ohio I'll kill him personally myself in person on my own.

I'll throw bandage-rolls at him until he succumbs to that.

!#@$%&!

#290893Post 29 of 74

:Homer: now we gan get on with killing stinky bad guys with hoods who want to cut off our heads!

I still just don't see much of a chance - the counts are showing Bush up by something like 140,000 votes. Even if there are 300,000 provisional & overseas ballots left to count (very much on the high end - probably much less in reality), Kerry would have to win 75% of those in order to make up the difference. Remember that a decent percentage of those are overseas military ballots which will be dominantly Bush votes.

Doesn't seem likely.

Shenanigans & inaccurate vote counting - when it is a difference of several thousand votes, that definitely comes into play. When the margin is 100,000+, it's a bit tougher.

Technically, we might not officially know for 10-11 days, but it pretty much looks like a done deal....

(maybe I'll be eating my words in a week ;) )

Go ahead and be pissed Yao, doesn't change anything. I don't know where the rest of you in other countires get off. Face it, nobody in America cares what you think when it comes to our elections. It sucks sometimes that you have to elect the lesser of two evils, but Bush is definetely just that.

Four more years of economic decline and a deficit that is rising at an exponential rate Four more years of lost jobs Four more years of terroristic threats from rogue nations Four more years of Bush

I'm not looking forward to the next four years.

#290978Post 35 of 74

Yep, its a done deal. Kerry concedes, AP and NBC has confirmed.

Speak for yourself. As much as you Bush bashers can't admit it not everyone shares your sentiments. Look at the polls..if Kerry was such a better option he would have...what is that word...oh yeah...WON.

Yeah..and we only have received threats from terrorist nations since Bush has been in office.

Take your blinders off.

#291010Post 37 of 74

it is normal for Liberals to complain, esp. when they had the chance to change something. they have always done that, and always will.

it is called moment of truth, and when it comes down to it, propaganda only works for so long.

Long Live The Kind.

#291013Post 38 of 74

You definitely need another 9/11 before you get the message, that's for sure.

I myself am mostly pissed because a vote for Bush is a vote against Africa (my study). Apart from that, he's going to impose his fundamentalistic views on you guys even more now, and instead of resolving international conflicts he has been, and will yet again, create new ones.

It's virtually impossible for any country to fight terrorist groups on their own territory, and Bush wants to fight in the whole world? By invading countries and replacing the regime?

Mark my words, this is going to turn the anti-Bush feelings around the world into an anti-american sentiment. I try to keep a balanced view, telling myself that doesn't mean every american totally likes what Bush does, but man....it's hard.

Oh, and Evangelion: It's not about receiving the terrorist threats, you reveived them well in Clinton's administration, it's how you DEAL with it. And Bush doesn't, except for metaphorically hitting anyone in the face whom he thinks is a suspect without evidence.

#291021Post 39 of 74

It's just sad that republicans just keep voting republican even when their canidate is a complete fuckup.

Even if I was stupid enough to be a republican, I would hope my common sense would interfer.

A sad, sad day in America.
