What has gotten into this guy lately? Does he realize he's on Fox? Dude has been pushing back on some of the conservative talking points lately:

I don't know if he's dealing with a bout of conscience or he's trying to maintain his job security in the event things don't work out with Fox, but it's interesting to watch. He gets digs in at Hannity and BillO in that second vid, nice to see...

Re: Shep Smith

probably one of the few people invested in making Fox News a reliable news source.

but have you heard some of the things Napolitano said? Man, the way he's been talking about Bush, im' suprised to see him in that clip. I haven't yet found a point to disagree with him on.

thanks for posting that.

i also want to point out that i think my mind is turning on BillO, too. I'm beginning to think that he's a conservative Nader (if that makes any sense)

Re: Shep Smith

^ oh i'm aware of it. i don't disagree that he can be an arrogant assface 1/2 the time. But, thinking back to all the shows I've watched, I think he's been on the right side of things about 85% of the time. And I think, from the stories i've read about him, he takes a serious journalistic attitude to his work. Look at dickwads like Chris Matthews and the others...hardly comparable.

Except every other news organization thinks Fox is a joke, so the fact that he's pushing back makes him look good, should he be jumping ship.

Re: Shep Smith

Fox News replaced thier editor within the last year with a hisotically liberal one. there has been a slow shift away from naziism.

Re: Shep Smith

I'm starting to think Shep is angling for a job at MSNBC or something:
"We are America!" he shouted, slamming his hand on the table. "I don't give a rat's ass if it helps. We are AMERICA! We do not fucking torture!!"
Can't imbed the video, but you can see it here:

Re: Shep Smith

first off, shep has a career. if he goes to msnbc its over. I love watching him since he actually reports news and most of times with some nice zings (ask J-Lo). I really saw him at his best which was in NO LA after Katrina. The guy was reporting news as he saw it. You could see his emotion like you never saw before. He had no agedena for ratings or anything. He only called it like he saw it. Hence why he has high ratings.

As for him against torture, or media being biased, he is the media. Saying they are biased is an attack on him. Of course he should be offended. He reports news. He is not a talk show host like oriley or hannity. Just because he is against torture does not make him a left wing liberal to join msnbc. There are a lot of republicans or right wing people who are against torture.

Again, he is not a talk show host like hannity ober-piece-of-shit-man, oriley, etc. His show is about reporting news and keeping a non-biased postion. He is the media.

Re: Shep Smith

Admittedly I watch Fox News primarily, but catch MSNBC and CNN at time to keep a well rounded perspective on things. Out of all the guys on there Ive always liked Shep the most.

Re: Shep Smith

bump

more of the same, this time re the public option on health care:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/10/06/fox-newss-shepard-smith-g_n_311627.html

hits both the Dem and GOP talking heads with the opposing viewpoints on the issue. good for him for trying to foster some actual intelligent discussion on the issue by asking hard questions of both parties.
