Re: President Barack Hussein Obama
we are fucked.
i'm very conflicted.
I like that we've changed the guard, i like that we've prevented the old guard to continue inheiriting the presidency without question.
But we've changed the guard with something a little bit worse.
Obama's legacy will be the way we deal with our foreign policy and our war on terror.
But he doesn't have a mandate. He won simply because McCain pissed off so many conservatives and libertarians. he put off thousands more with his negativity. But Obama, if he doesn't something radical, will cause all of these right-leaning groups to support the GOP contender in 2012.
Right now, Obama is going to be fighting for his re-election. It starts right here.
Re: President Barack Hussein Obama
well said and why i beleive a one term, 6 year presidency should be in effect
Re: President Barack Hussein Obama
It's an exciting time for America, whether you agree with the vote or not.
But in my case...FUCK YES
Re: President Barack Hussein Obama
It will be interesting to see how the stock market will react tomorrow.
Re: President Barack Hussein Obama
tomorrow it will be OK. stability results after elcetions. its the upcoming months i would be afraid of. watch for a lot of money leaving the american markets.
speech on now.
Re: President Barack Hussein Obama
good. Palin has no chance to become VP at least for another 4 years. that makes me happy. :)
didnt really matter who got elected, the US is still fucked for the foreseeable future. who knows what will happen.
with the dems controlling the house, senate, congress, and the presidency... we will see.

Re: President Barack Hussein Obama
yup, stability should hit. i would even fathom a decent uptick tomorrow. the markets arent gonna do anything major until his tax plans are released with details.
Re: President Barack Hussein Obama
Things still suck, but at least there's a little bit of HOPE in the air now
Re: President Barack Hussein Obama
No matter how you voted, what is done is done. There is no one right answer to today's problem. Things are going to be rough times no matter if it was McCain or Obama. Change is needed everywhere and both party have to put their bullshit aside for once and work together on this. People have to believe change and hope is going to happen. Somebody is going to have to pay for this mess and more likely it will be us for a government that fucked up and that goes back further than Bush and Clinton. It will be interesting times and Bush still has 77 days left in office. Maybe he can pull a rabbit out of his hat or maybe not.

Re: President Barack Hussein Obama
Congratulations, President Obama! Now get your ass to work. We're in one of the deepest shit storms we've ever been in as a nation during peace time, and your first 100 days better not be like Nancy Pelosi's.
Re: President Barack Hussein Obama
epic win. fuck pelosi
Re: President Barack Hussein Obama
It's no peace time by the way
Re: President Barack Hussein Obama
It's no peace time by the way, Miroslav
Re: President Barack Hussein Obama
what exactly could he possibly do to make something less of a shit storm than it already is?
he won't be getting out of iraq, and he won't be ending the war on terror. they're gonna bush a few hundred more billion in bailouts to industries that don't deserve or need it.
Re: President Barack Hussein Obama
It's no peace time by the way, Miroslav
right-o. forgot about that whole Iraq/Afghanistan thing. oops.

and to all you people saying how 'fucked' america is now. get a grip. honestly. there is no possible way he could be as bad as bush. anything is an upgrade. a troupe of feces tossing chimps would have been an upgrade.
an articulate, likeable black guy will do wonders for your relationships with other countries. that alone should have you popping champagne corks, cause if you haven't noticed...the world has not been a particularly big fan of the good ol US of A lately.
his policies, leanings...we shall see how things play out in the long run. its a bit premature to be calling this the apocalypse. calm down. have a beer (or several) and chill out. the doomsday crap is getting old.

Well said, day_for_night. I agree with you, and I'm willing to give the guy a fair shot.
But on the flip side... The idiots are really out in force today. I don't think I've ever heard a greater concentration of ridiculous and deleriously exaggerated euphoria in my life. It's as if he had come up with the cure for cancer and saved us all 15% on car insurance just by having won the election. Everywhere on NPR, on TV, online, in the newspapers, everyone is just creaming themselves over Obama, like that woman in the Youtube video that speciale posted yesterday... "Yaaayyy America has WON! We've defeated evil, we're saved, happy days are here forever...my problems are GONE, thanks to Obama...this is the best moment of my existence EVER...Obama cured my herpes...I would take a bullet for Obama right now... blah blah blah"
jeez. get a grip, America.
These people are setting themselves up for some seriously failed expectations. This honeymoon may be very short-lived...and it won't necessarily be Obama's fault.

Let me just say this: for the thousands and thousands of donors and volunteers that have invested an enormous amount of time, money and effort into the campaign, the joy and jubilation you're seeing today is an enormous release of months and months of stress and is in some respects a discharge of nervous energy. If we're still all wound up a week from now, by all means, mock away. Today, though, I'm going to gush as much as I damn well please. ;)
Re: President Barack Hussein Obama
and for all the people talking shit. do you do your part other than just vote?
recycle, public transportation, charity/volunteer work? or just milk the system for all its worth and talk shit about everyone else but yourself?

i saw someone saying they voted for him because of his history. i asked them what he did other than serve one hundred days and not vote once as a member of our foreign relations committe?
listen the zombies are gonna be out in force for awhile, ya bear with it and laugh at them when this mook fails.

well in this fat, lazy, incompetent society of ours, im just growing tired of people saying that we're all fucked 12 hours after the election. and yet those same people aren't doing anything to benefit the greater good. they rather blame the politicians for EVERYTHING rather than making decisions in their life that better society and the planet.
if people were HALF as concerned with what they were contributing to society instead of the politicians, we'd be a lot better off. thats all im saying.
Re: President Barack Hussein Obama
christ there are some negative miserable people.. all this god help us crap is really stupid. i mean either way, in the grand scheme of things is your day to day life going to be any differet barring a massive terrorist attack?

tell that to americans circa 1976 during the carter admin. if we're lucky, the democrats will remember what majority they had back then and what they ended up doing. and try to avoid doing the same this time around.

I'm part of America's economic productivity - Aerospace & Defense manufacturing, to be specific. And I pay my taxes and spend/invest my money. That stimulates the economy further. And I do give some money to charity. So pls don't lump me into your fat, lazy, incompetent stereotype. :)
Btw, all of this is beside the point anyways. It's great that you/we recycle, but it won't restore jobs, fix healthcare, or end the war in Iraq. The administration in power will have disproportionate influence on all of that and even they won't be able to control all of it. That's what my point was about.
And for the record, I don't think we are F'ed with Obama. For better or for worse I voted for the guy, so I'm giving him a fair shot. My point was what I already wrote like three times today in my previous posts. Go read them if you care to know.

So what are Al Sharpton & Jesse Jackson going to complain about now...maybe they will finally just go away.
