The uber-conservative Chicago Tribune, a newspaper that has not endorsed a democrat for president since, well, ever, has endorsed Barack Obama for president.

It might seem self-evident that a Chicago newspaper would endorse a Chicagoan for President, but as shosh likes to point out at any opportunity, Chicago papers (mostly the Trib) have not been kind to Obama. It was the Trib that was hopping up and down about Tony Rezko back when Obama was gaining momentum. And now, today, it is endorsing Obama.

Is that the devil putting on a parka I see?

Re: Tribune Endorses Obama

"This endorsement makes some history for the Chicago Tribune. This is the first time the newspaper has endorsed the Democratic Party's nominee for president."

" McCain failed in his most important executive decision. Give him credit for choosing a female running mate--but he passed up any number of supremely qualified Republican women who could have served."
