McCain & Fannie/Freddie at the debate

McCain has caught a fair amount of flack for his "that one" comment during the debate, but equally disrespectful and/or condescending was his comment to one of the first questioners that “You probably never heard of Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac before this.” Not sure how McCain came to that conclusion or thought it would be a good idea to insult the guy's intelligence by calling him out on global television about it, but there ya go.

Anyway, that guy has responded to that and some other questions about his debate experience:
How did I feel about Sen. McCain stating “You probably never heard of Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac before this.” Well Senator, I actually did. I like to think of myself as a fairly intelligent person. I have a bachelor degree in Political Science from Tennessee State, so I try to keep myself up to date with current affairs. I have a Master degree in Legal Studies from Southern Illinois University, a few years in law school, and I am currently pursuing a Master in Public Administration from the University of Memphis. In defense of the Senator from Arizona I would say he is an older guy, and may have made an underestimation of my age. Honest mistake. However, it could be because I am a young African-American male. Whatever the case may be it was somewhat condescending regardless of my age to make an assumption regarding whether I was knowledgeable about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
What on earth was McCain thinking with this comment, by the way?

Nice work Senator McCain! The guy is just so freaking lost in this century. At least he's keeping it entertaining.

Re: McCain & Fannie/Freddie at the debate

Very nice, I'm glad this dude said something.

I remember thinking 'whoa, this dude is not in middle school' when I heard him say that the other night.

Re: McCain & Fannie/Freddie at the debate

epic.

I also appreciate his ongoing use of the phrase "countries that most Americans can't find on a map". I'm glad you have such a high opinion of "the best workers in the world".

i was simply ridiculing one of the reasons the guy gave. it seems that anytime you say something against a person who happens to be black, thats the reason why you're against them. ffs

Re: McCain & Fannie/Freddie at the debate

actually i'm with shosh on this. i understood it when i read what he wrote. in his defense.

i think a better question to those people would be

Would you have a black on the supreme court? what about secretary of state? defense?
