A new American Research Group poll shows Obama with an 8 point lead -- in West Freakin' Virginia.

On the one hand, I don't trust this poll at all until I see something else along the same lines, as it's a marked reversal of course. On the other hand, the fact that there's even a possibility that Obama could be competing in West Virginia underscores how out of hand this race could get...

It doesn't even matter if Obama ultimately wins these states or not -- just the fact that McCain is going to have to expend resources in states he should have firmly in his column is the killer for him.
