Well it is nice to see that the Bush administration is cutting back its spending. They just passed a monster $612 Billion defense budget yesterday. With all eyes on the bailout this was kind of a smoke and mirror trick that the Bush admin loves to do.

Funny russia is spending $50 billion their defenses.. The US just blows money it like nothing. Say you cut that in half $300 Billion for defense and then $300 Billion for.... shit anything healthcare, pay off half of this bailout right away..

Re: US Defense Budget 2009

^^ I hope that was a joke. If it was HAHA..

I just can't believe that the US needs to start a budget at $600 billion (everyone knows they will go over budget as they do every year). All I can think about is what a waste of money. The Military Industrial Complex has put a nail in the US foot which will not allow the world to move forward. It is to much money going to nation building. That is how Rome fell. Surely that will be how the US fails.
I don't believe a spending freeze is in order. That will hurt the real infrastructure of the government.. That would further lead to a systemic crisis.
Re: US Defense Budget 2009

ok. but bottom line to me is that you either are for a spending freeze or against it. you can't be both at the same time.

Re: US Defense Budget 2009

this is the one conspiracy i find has some footing...

why the hell is our gevernment planning on sending the army here to police us>? in an elction year? where teh GOP is planning on losing? based on oil issues? when our reserves are at a high lvl? while we are sitting in the middle easts 2nd largest producer? and allies with the worlds leading producer?

all questions that need to be put on the front page of every paper and news station..... but the media will spedn time fueling the economic cirsis..........
