i will seriously lose my fucking mind. at this point i could care less about the content. this is more diffiuclt to listen to than any speech Bush has given. Maybe she's nervous? I can't say for sure. I could only watch about 10 seconds.

Re: i can't listen to her speak again

How funny, I was literally coming on to post about this as well. This is frankly a little shocking, and it's not as if Katie Couric came at her guns a'blazing or asked her unfair or gotcha-type questions. I'm blown away.

Perhaps its the bleeding heart liberal in me that earnestly wants good things for all people, but I seriously feel bad for her. This is someone who was an up-and-comer in the party and probably had big things in front of her, but she's obviously out of her league at this point, and she's swiftly becoming a punchline. When Katie Freakin' Couric makes you look like a smacked ass without even really trying, you might not be ready for the big time.

Re: i can't listen to her speak again

^ yeah, i understand. I just wrote an e-mail to Andrew Sullivan saying how I'm really beginning to feel bad for Palin because I don't think she personally knows how bad this makes her look. Yet, i quipped, her decision to accept the VP spot flies in the face of what a rational decision maker would have made, given her experience and responsibilities and personal history, and speaks of opportunism at the cost of both McCain's campaign, the problems her own family faces, and the general well-being of our Republic. If she was strong-armed into this, that's one thing...but I can't see that happening. As Rob Dreher said on Belief.Net, "she makes George W. Bush sound like Cicero."

My mother, a fundamentalist conservative Christian texted me last night, saying that, aside from Obama being 'arrogant', that Palin is not a 'good pick. she will not be a good world leader'. She initially stated how awesome it was that Palin was picked, and she said her opinion changed once she saw this interview. A kool-aid hangover is quickly cured through a sobering reality of feeling decieved.

I think once this is all over, and McCain hopefully loses, we'll be finding out how McCain's campaign put thier full attention on damage control of Palin and neglected to, from then on, run a decent honorable campaign. And I'm sure there will be several people who will come out about the infighting, too.

I posted a video on GYY of two swedish girls doing some crazy shit....and all I can think of now is how this is similar to watching an accident happen in slow motion...

I want to look away, but can't.

goddamnit. this should not be happening to our country.

Re: i can't listen to her speak again

i really cant belieave this shit, i mean, we all know she doesnt have the experience, but c'mon, if youre Mccains campaign manager, you coach the bitch untill she can answer a question.

it just looks as if she doesnt even know what Couric is asking, she looks lost, unaware of the position that shes in, i mean, youre the vp, you should be able wreck Couric and Gibson, those are the easy ones.

oh well, i just hope that the people that were really excited to vote for her and mccold realize how dumb she looks, i mean, she makes W. Bush looks freaking smart.

that second link is gold.. love Courics face, as if to say, wow you really dont have a clue do you sweetheart, lol

i love the very succinct answers though.. umm, let me just use your example as my answer.. and the maverick comment, seriously?

also, is it meant to make us feel she is so relaxed and at ease because she calls them Fannie and Freddie..

I'd be willing to bet her high school essays are full of rewording of the original question

Re: i can't listen to her speak again

The more I watch this, the more I really just want to cry at the mere prospect of her being so close to the presidency. I don't mean that figuratively, either, I mean that I literally want to curl up under my desk and just weep softly for a little while. It is an utter mockery of the process. Maybe that's the strategy, to turn the whole thing into such a complete and utter farce that voters become disillusioned and don't bother to go to the polls.

I have a feeling there's a lot of hand-wringing going on at Camp McCain right now.

i believe it was a shotgun nomination, honestly.

they knew that Obama was not going to nominate Hillary so they banked on that and nominated a woman to get all of Hillary's votes. also, Palin looks really good on camera, i mean cmon, she is a MILF... which is the reason the republican party got that feel of 'rejuvenation' after she was nominated... all the old people were busy whacking off to her pictures.

now that she is a complete ditz on camera and has absolutely no real qualifications to be a vice president, it is backfiring on them... and rightly so.

it made absolutely NO SENSE that mccain nominated her after only talking to her one or two times previous... no sense at all.

Re: i can't listen to her speak again

At first, I thought that Palin was a pretty clever pick by a guy who was fighting an image problem of being an old same-as-always right-wing fogey.

Then I realized that when she opens her mouth and at interviews, silly gibberish comes out.

Now I officially rescind that opinion. She is clearly out of her league and needs to get back to hunting moose or whatever she does up there in her home state. Obama may be relatively light on experience for a presidential candidate, but he can at least take the heat and give generally coherent responses.

With this, the general state of the economy, and McCain's retarded standpoint on the whole debate, Obama should more easily win the campaign than I previously thought.

On the entertainment side, Palin's debate will now probably be the most watched in history.
