Re: i can't listen to her speak again
^ yeah, i understand. I just wrote an e-mail to Andrew Sullivan saying how I'm really beginning to feel bad for Palin because I don't think she personally knows how bad this makes her look. Yet, i quipped, her decision to accept the VP spot flies in the face of what a rational decision maker would have made, given her experience and responsibilities and personal history, and speaks of opportunism at the cost of both McCain's campaign, the problems her own family faces, and the general well-being of our Republic. If she was strong-armed into this, that's one thing...but I can't see that happening. As Rob Dreher said on Belief.Net, "she makes George W. Bush sound like Cicero."
My mother, a fundamentalist conservative Christian texted me last night, saying that, aside from Obama being 'arrogant', that Palin is not a 'good pick. she will not be a good world leader'. She initially stated how awesome it was that Palin was picked, and she said her opinion changed once she saw this interview. A kool-aid hangover is quickly cured through a sobering reality of feeling decieved.
I think once this is all over, and McCain hopefully loses, we'll be finding out how McCain's campaign put thier full attention on damage control of Palin and neglected to, from then on, run a decent honorable campaign. And I'm sure there will be several people who will come out about the infighting, too.
I posted a video on GYY of two swedish girls doing some crazy shit....and all I can think of now is how this is similar to watching an accident happen in slow motion...
I want to look away, but can't.
goddamnit. this should not be happening to our country.
