just been browsing around... and i am seeing multiple polls that are showing a dead heat int he race
how the hell did mccain pull this out? i know a lot of the middle american christians still think obama is islamic and they cant get over thier faith based hatred of the foreign ideas... so many factors here ..

I have no idea how this became such a close race. I understand that Palin is popular. However, after fact checking so much that she says she is a champion of is false. Plus, she is under investigation. PLUS, she who stands behind abstinence can't even teach it in her own home. What the hell is wrong with Americans?

well first of all, most of these polls only call registered voters who have voted in a previous election, and who have a landline.
obama's voter registration drives have registered over 150,000 in VIRGINIA ALONE! if instead of doing polls by phone, they made it a national man on the street thing, the numbers would be MUCH different.
anyone who thinks this election is gonna be even remotely close is in for a surprise. come november, it's gonna be an early tuesday evening.

One thing to consider is this -- McCain is enjoying a bounce right now, most of which you can probably attribute to Palin, but she might well be at her apex in terms of her ability to bring new voters over the McCain -- from the numbers right now, she's unlikely to contribute to a further rise in McCain's numbers, primarily because we're just not going to see a heck of a lot from her (at least the way things are currently slated to occur).
Politics is all about "what have you done for me lately," and if she's not around, she runs the risk of the McCain/Palin numbers dropping.
Also, her popularity right now is based upon her acceptance speech and what people [B]think [/B]she believes on this issues -- when she actually takes some positions on things, she risks either throwing a wet blanket on the far right that is so fired up right now, or scaring the hell out of moderates.
I'm trying to envision a situation where she has a realistic opportunity to really help McCain pick up more points, and I'm having a tough time doing it.

they are starting to see the hard numbers and realizing that barak is promising shit god couldnt deliver. and frankly.. a lot of ppl in the country hate blacks. cut and dry there. we cant change that. being honest here, as i hate barak just a little bit less than mccain, both hate them both a lot.

Thank you ddr for stepping in and answering. You are correct on all accounts. One thing I do want to say is about not being able to control children. This is very true I have one of my own. My point is that you should not only teach abstinence in schools because children need to be educated on all aspects of sex. Children do not always listen to their parents and parents definitely cannot control their children. It is irresponsible to think anything different. And, her daughter is fortunate that a baby was the outcome and not something deadly.
Lastly, even though I do not agree with much on the Republican side of the fence I appreciate the discussion and do not feel the need to resort to name calling. If you feel I am wrong in your opinion tell me why.
