Come on, it seems a bit far-fetched to take this too far and proclaim that there is some sort of a secret Obama-Muslim conspiracy at work here. It was most likely a screw-up. It happens; trust me, many candidates, Democrat and Republican alike, have made stupid mistakes and said things much worse in the past. Besides, do you not remember his whole issue with his [I]long-term Christian[/I] pastor at the church in Chicago where people watched him and his family go for years??
And I'm not saying this because I'm in love with Obama. I'm not star-struck with either candidate, and I'd say the same thing if it had been McCain. If he's really Muslim, I need more evidence. And frankly, if he was, I wouldn't personally care. But if you're going to seriously take this and run with it, then I'd suggest that you're probably too biased for your own good.

i could care less whether he was muslim or not, i won't vote for him... i don't even care that he may or may not have slipped up... he couls have said that he worships satan or xenu, i don't give a shit.. what i do care about, is the fact that this will be ignored by much of the unbiased(?) media... while at the same time every little bullshit thing that the republican VP candidate has done since she was born is being blown completely out of proportion.
you all can keep turning this around, and point the finger at me... suggesting that I'm making a big deal out of nothing... that doesn't change the fact that he slipped up... I want to see the damage control and the media reaction, and I can guarantee that the media reaction would not be same if a republican had screwed up like this...
like i said before, just wait till debate time... then we'll all get a good look at just how "qualified" he really is...

There are posts that I make on this board because they raise issues for actual discussion, and there are posts that I make on this board that are simply designed to be entertaining for political junkies that pay close attention to such things. There are also differences between posts that are focused upon the horse race component of political campaigns where I really do make an effort to be objective, and those that are focused upon policy, where I most certainly do not. I guess I rely upon you, the reader, to be able to distingush between the two.
If you honestly think that I sincerely believe that John McCain is a secret terrorist because he failed to wear a flag pin or that McCain is unfit to lead this country because she stood before a green-colored backdrop, then you, sir, are an idiot. Might I suggest you check out some of the delicious recipes that can be found in Jonathan Swift's "A Modest Proposal."
If you want to have a discussion about Obama's tax plan versus McCain's tax plan, or how they intend to address health care (assuming McCain has such a plan), or veteran's benefits, or foreign policy, then by all means post something and let's talk about it. Any of this nonsense referring to "Hussein" being a terrorist on the DL, though, is beneath the dignity of those who live in the reality-based world and isn't worthy of a serious response.
