anyone order this one yet?

i swore i would read a book from both ends this time around. im reading barak's book that comes out soon, and i think ill read this one.

basically its an attack book on his radicalism in reagrds to liberalism, his drug use, and ties to militancy (which are a stretch at best).

its this year's version of the swift boat works.

my other question, and this is squarly aimed at toasty, is .... is there an attack book on mccain coming out? if so, what is it? i read his books in the past so im not reading any pro mccain material anytime soon, and i got my pro/con obama lined up.

I haven't read it and don't plan to, but I think Cliff Schecter's "The Real McCain" would qualify.

it is, in fact, it was one of the main fac tors i cant vote for him. it shows his ties to radical left wingers, political instability and those who have him in thier pockets. it goes overboard in reagrds to portraying him as a druggie though. way overboard. in fact, ignore that whole part of it. but the meat of it shows how much he admires socialism and where the authros and contributors think he will take us.

I haven't read it, but it doesn't seem like a good use of time. It's garbage. That goes for Schecter's book as well, by the way, which is why I have no intention of reading it. Do you really think that McCain called his wife a cunt, in public? I don't, so the rest of the book has very little credibility for me.

@ sightless: It strikes me as odd that on the one hand, you're asking me for detailed policy positions, while on the other, seeking out the tabloid criticisms from greedy "authors." There's no good reason for an intelligent person to read any of this trash about either candidate. I'm not surprised that shosh is salivating over this stuff, but I thought you were still interested in items from the fact-based world.

If you want to learn about the candidates, then learn about the candidates. Looking to these folks as sources of legitimate information, though, is horribly misguided. I expect this shit from shosh, but I frankly expected a bit more from you. And by the way, this is not a "well, I like to get as much information from as many sources as possible" sort of thing. These tabloid authors effectively create works of fiction. They are not sources of information, they are sources of red meat for the whackjobs on either end of the spectrum.

I will say this, though -- with the signal to noise ratio so low in political campaigns already, I'm not sure why anyone would go out of their way to add more noise -- [B]especially when everyone knows that's what it is[/B].

Does it strike you as odd that the same dude behind "Unfit for Command," the hit piece on John Kerry, had the knowledge base to be able to pen this wonder of modern literature? Now this is just a complete non-sequitur. Dean got shit for acting like a professional wrestler in a campaign speech, and might I add that it was fucking hysterical. His loss in Iowa doomed him, though, not that speech. Unfortunately, I can't even begin to comprehend what that has to do with Obama. More shosh-logic, I suppose.

james, these books are the source of material that shows what the candidates dont want you tyo see.

i ALWAYS look at these knowing full well what they are and how they are skewed. i accept that they are skweded much like "the audacity of hope" was. i look at them simply to what facts are presneted and form my own opinion on the facts. in fact the only book to not show itself skewed regarding anything in US history that i have read is report from ground zero by dennis smith.

i can learn the bad things about obama much like you present the bad things about mccain. personallly, i think mccain is much closer to the person he present himself to be than obama. frankly, i canty look at obama's speeches for more than 5 mintues without the feeling he isnt who he presents himself to be. he is too much of the dark horse from out of nowhere. something isnt sitting right with him. and as usual, i am not for mccain, nor obama. im disenfranchised and will be voting barr unless something major happens that would draw me to obama. sad that becasue i am against obama everyone thinks im for mccain, but i must write it e verytime. (yes, i read audacity hope).

I stand by my earlier post. The name "Jerome Corsi" is synonymous with smears and lies. He does not deal in information, he deals in fodder for the wingnuts. There is a difference between a work that is "slanted" and one that just makes shit up -- if it makes you happy to read such nonsense, far be it for me to tell you otherwise, but it is a work of fiction.

I will say this, though -- a lot of people would attribute Kerry's loss to Bush in part to the swiftboat campaign. How many people that voted for Bush based upon what they "learned" from Swiftboat Veterans for Truth do you think are happy with that decision? Think they'll be persuaded by this douchenozzle again? I don't. He might sell a lot of books, but the time for the stories in this book to take hold has pretty much already passed - if the media was going to latch onto anything in there, they would have done so by now. In the age of the 24 hour news cycle, that book is already old news.
