Actual pin being sold at the Texas Republican state convention:

Please, I'm begging, keep doing stuff like this -- make the moderates in your party question whom they're aligning themselves with. Unbelievable that someone would think this was acceptable.

Re: Keep it up, Republicans

are you commenting on the fact that it is quasi-racist? or the fact that it is fulll of idiocy.

 1. Barack Obama is half black and half white. If based on the creator's idea, it would be called the Half White Half Black House.
 2. Even if BHO was black, it would still be called the White House. WHy would it change?

anyways, i've shown my cards: i'm doing what i can to destroy a party that has become inverted and poisonous.

Machiavelli once said that a party may keep an outward appearance while completely transforming what is within. How appropriate. I would further analogize this to the victim of a vampire.

Both, although the two are obviously related. :|

Re: Keep it up, Republicans

this is old news... and an old quote. move on, please. don't bunch everyone into one category. this whole race is going to be racial based. many are already claiming anyone against obama is a racist and that's pathetic.

I think maybe I didn't make my point very clear. I'm not saying that all republicans are racist, not at all. What I'm saying is that stuff like this out of the ones that are might make the rest of the GOP uneasy. This race ought to be fought over the folks in the middle, and republicans and independents being uncomfortable aligning themselves with other republicans = win for Obama IMO.

Re: Keep it up, Republicans

^ didn't notice your captions below the big pin picture! :)

but seriously... the dems have had their fair share of racial slurs so to each their own. obama has aligned himself with plenty of sketchy characters in the past, so there are two sides to every coin. i predict a whole lot more people changing their votes against obama due to obama's ties than repuublicans changing their votes because of a simple retarded texas republican convention.

Not trying to be obtuse, but I seriously have no idea what you're referring to here. What judgment have I made? That the guy making this button is a racist idiot? That other Republicans might think the guy who made it is an idiot, too, and might not want to associate with such sentiments? Those are the only two things I've tried to say here, and I would hope that they would be more or less beyond serious dispute -- and for the record, I would surprise me if you and I weren't on the same page as to whether or not that button is offensive. I'm not saying that's how most republicans think, though, which is what you seem to be hinting at -- quite the opposite.

Re: Keep it up, Republicans

i changed/edited my response before you posted. ;) it was too brash. i should preview before i post because i always end up editing! reread, please. we are on the same page. i just think i've found a lot of characters related directly in obama's life that i also find offensive and they far outweigh a button.

Yeah, good point sean. Because, you know, an overwhelming over 15% think the country is on the right track, so that fringe element representing 85% of the country are clearly totally out of whack with their criticism.

when obama wins, and he is gonna win, are you gonna masturbate on the posters>? just asking.

its ok for one group, but not the other. this mook better be the second coming of christ for all this fucking hype and nonsense going on.

Re: Keep it up, Republicans

You know, this thread isn't even about Obama, it's about some dumbshit in Texas and the hope that the rest of the GOP will shy away from this sort of thinking. Whoops, used the word "hope," must be stumping for Obama, right?

Look if you want to have a discussion about Barack Obama and what you seem to perceive to be my unnatural mancrush on him, then start a thread and we'll talk about it.

i think you made the judgement that

 1. If you are a republican; and
 2. you have a residence in Texas; then
 3. You are racist.

I think that's a pretty straightforward, and true, proof.

Re: Keep it up, Republicans

^^disagree totally. I'm surprised you passed the LSAT with leaps of logic like that! :D;)

j/k Definitely not what I meant to convey, and I don't think I did. I thought I was actually giving the bulk of Republicans credit for not thinking like this guy. Oh well.

Re: Keep it up, Republicans

I was talking to a couple of friends in Texas(my previous residence) this past weekend and they were worried that this country would elect that terrorist in disguise Obama.

I'm being serious and so was one of the guys because I asked him do you really think that just because of his name? And he replied that there was suspicious writings in his books. No real specifics of course when I asked what was written.

It's amazing how whacked people can get.

Re: Keep it up, Republicans

^ Republicans definitely have the market cornered on the lower end of the IQ bell curve.

Also, something I find very telling is the results of a survey done by the University of Wisconsin that said overwhelmingly that voters who have moved from their home state (where they were raised, etc.) to another state vote Democratic and those who still live in their home state vote Republican. It would seem that the saying "Democrats fall in love; Republicans fall in line" holds true.

you are joking, right? so when obama and clinton use profit instead of profit margin to convince millions that oil companies are reaping the benefits of high gas prices and we need to tax them more, they aren't pandering to the unintelligent out there? there are tons of people buying into that bullshit and they aren't voting on the republican ticket.

They are probably referring to a chain email going around. This snopes link contains the email itself, and snopes breaking down the email.

By the way, one thing we never really discussed -- how exactly is this old news? The convention was just held over the weekend. :what

Good to see that the Texas GOP has slammed this dude, too, and will be donating the booth proceeds to charity:
