Yeah, the national polls are close, but things do not bode well for W, based upon the latest Zogby poll results:
Pollster John Zogby: "The two candidates go into the third and final debate tied. TIED!!! There is no major sub-group movement to report, but the undecided voters give us the real key to what is happening behind the scenes. Today's three-day track reveals that only 11% of the undecided voters feel that President Bush deserves to be re-elected. That is the lowest figure yet. Two in five -- 40%-- feel it is time for someone new and 49% are undecided about his future.
As Randi Rhodes keeps sayin' "Kerry in a landslide!"

It's the optimistic approach. :Bingo:

Re: Bush's Re-election hopes in serious trouble

The election was in high favor of Bush after the Republican convention for a while, I would not say that Bush's re-election hopes are in serious trouble though. If anything I think Kerry has caught up to Bush well with the debates. But the outcome is back to where we expect it - a close race, no landslide, no serious trouble for Bush. Still the indicators look good for Bush and they have been mostly in his favor the entire time. The election is Kerry's to lose that is all. Bush is a win but by a razor thin margin and that is the same place we were in 2000. Bush would win and the legal bull$hit we saw before is going to be much worse this time around especially since we have people ready and waiting for every manor of legal action to get their way in the courts, it's going to be a circus of a magnitude we didn't see before.

The debates certainly didn't help Bush and appear to have helped Kerry, but I still think it'll be a close race.

Definitely will be a close race, and it will go down to the wire. I am heartened by these trends, though, as a member of the ABB camp.
