Just when you thought the Democratic race couldn’t get uglier, Barack Obama is being accused of giving Hillary Clinton the finger at a town hall meeting in North Carolina.
Oh come on.

I don't have access to YouTube at work. Is there anyone that can shed some light on whether this is as ridiculous as it sounds?

Re: Really Fox News? Really?

How crazy is it that our electoral process has devolved into a Seinfeld episode?
George: Hey, when you order from the waitress, get her to point to the menu. I want to see what finger she uses.

Jerry: Uh, say, I wanted a side order of fruit but I didn't see it on the men

Waitress: Oh, you're getting it (pointing to menu with index finger), it comes with your breakfast special.

Jerry: Right you are.

George: I didn't get the special, but I'd also like the fresh fruit too.

Waitress (scratching cheek with middle finger): I'll check.

George (after waitress walks away): I don't believe it, she did it again!

Jerry: Oh, she had an itch.

George: She had an itch. She could have used any one of those fingers. That finger was meant for me.

Kramer (laughing): Yeah, she knew what she was doing.
:lol::lol::lol:

Re: Really Fox News? Really?

ffs if thats something the democratic process rests on...the supposed finger "which may or not have been" who cares even if it was its not like he did it obviously so it can be interpreted either way... news reporting, news reporting my ass. its a sad, sad day for democracy and news reporting indeed when some bullshit like this gets so much press coverage...misdirection, misdirection some more misdirection and Republicans get the white house and USA declares war on Iran. Are ppl (Americans) that stupid... only time will tell.

Me too and I didn't really like Obama that much until now. I think it was done on purpose and the crowd responded to something and it could've been the finger.

so i just clicked on the link. dear jesus. is that what they've sunk to? fox news doesn't even care about anyone unless the name is mccain. they're just trying to piss everyone off in any way possible.

this isn't a news organization. it's your next door neighbors 9 year old son going through a 'i know everything syndrome". and your stuck babysitting it.

I suspect that he may have done it on purpose as well...and, frankly, that concerns me a bit. If it were to ever be determined that he did do it on purpose, I would be quite disappointed in him because I thought he was better than that. The point is not that Hillary is a bitch; I don't like her either. But think about what that kind of an action would say about his character:

 1. It's undignified and immature. Not the style in which I want my leader representing my nation to the rest of the planet.

 2. It's hypocritical. He just got done complaining how everyone was taking cheap shots at him in the debate...and that is his response? I thought he was bringing "change" to petty Washington politics.

 3. It's wreckless and stupid. It just invites controversy and gives his opponents free shots at his character - and all for what?

That said, I'm not sure what the true case was, and I'm sure we'll never know. I will give him the benefit of the doubt solely on the grounds that I still can't believe that he would be so stupid as to do something like that on purpose.

You give him the benefit of the doubt and the media does too on many things. There's backlash now that Obama is getting away with actions like this and other things because the media support him.

I'm not saying he should back out of the race and you're probably right about benefit of the doubt, but I'll be looking for more reactions like this from Obama. When those reactions happen, then we should hold him accountable for his actions. We don't need a President who can't act like one.

Re: Really Fox News? Really?

He paused for the laugh!! He did it. It was an incredibly childish thing to do!! This guy can dish it, but he can't take it.

I had enormous hope for Obama and I am so disappointed. I'm so sick of his " You're picking on me because I'm black" whine. He is such a sook.! I'm not a big fan of Hilarys But at least she doesn't whine about being picked on because she is a woman, and it's certainly happening.!!

If you look at the history both tended to vote the same way and their list of contributors is pretty similar.

From my view America blew it!! John Edwards had the best credentials to make a great president. !! Instead you left with a whiny elitist who uses his colour at every opportunity or someone who "misremembers" Oh, or a republican I suppose! :)

bullshit! do you remember when she started crying during the NH primaries??? :D
bullshit! do you remember when she started crying during the NH primaries??? :D
Yeah, but how do you equate shedding tears with giving your political opponent the finger in a public forum?? She's accepted responsibility for her own fuck ups ! [of which there are many :)] Still am not impressed with her anyway. He's a whiner!! As I said major disappointment.:(

Btw I think it's quite ironic that he is getting so much black support. He's about as far away as you could get from the majority of afro americans, despite having an actual african parent, or maybe because of??

Re: Really Fox News? Really?

^^ true all that...but I'm just not so sure that Edwards was any better than the rest of these monkeys. the way it works in politics...only rich, shifty, ego-driven people are generally driven to put up with competing for it

I don't see what that has to do with it. Showing emotion isn't saying "they're picking on me because I am a woman."

Oh for fucks sake, people. This was posted as an example of how ridiculous political commentary has gotten -- where it reaches a point where legitimate news outlets begin discussing whether or not a presidential candidate flipped off an opposing candidate -- and you fuckers actually engage in that very discussion.

There are so many things in that video that make it clear that he was not, in fact, flipping anyone off, but to actually respond substantively would be to play have the very discussion Fox wants us to have -- which as an independently-minded person, I'm not inclined to do.

No offense, but you don't seem to exactly be so independently minded on this issue. If it relates to your boy Obama, then it's off limits...but if that had been Hillary, you'd have been all over it

Re: Really Fox News? Really?

I'm definitely not 100% objective, but I do try to call it like I see it, and oh might I finally add WE'RE TALKING ABOUT A PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE FLIPPING OFF ANOTHER PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE. Bounds of reason, that's all I'm saying.

:p

Re: Really Fox News? Really?

A well place gesture indeed if he meant to give her the finger though he should have done it directly into the camera. Maybe Obama could find some way to work Monica Lewinsky into some public appearances.
