This reminds me of Star Wars, where first you find out that Darth Vader is Luke's father, then you learn that Leia is his sister, etc. I think in future sequels, we'll learn that Chewbacca was Luke's dog and R2-D2 was an old upright vacuum he had or some shit like that.

And this matters how? Ok, I guess it's somewhat interesting. My political mind tells me that this story is to combat the Rev. Wright story so that white people will feel comfortable again voting for Obama. Since Obama's related to white people, he can't be all that bad or racist like that preacher is what I think they're trying to tell me.

Proof to me is the timing of the story. If it wasn't to help politically, we would've heard this months ago. And btw, we are all related somehow.

Honestly, I don't think it matters one iota. I just thought it was interesting that both candidates have roots that link them to various famous people throughout history. I rearranged the story some to make it fit into the "politics" forum a little better -- the original story was focused on how Obama was related to Pitt and Clinton was related to Jolie and had more of an entertainment tilt.

Pretty crazy that a guy with only one American parent [I](edit: esp. one from Kansas)[/I] would have such a storied lineage, though. That really surprised me. No broader comment intended, though.
