:shock::shock: I've been reading this book by John Perkins on and off for about a year now, but recently decided to sit down and re-read it and really divulge the information that it suppiles. this book is about the life of a man that was hired by a firm to write economic forecasts in third world countries. without ruining anything for those who have not read it, it goes on to tell the true story of how the united states, over the last 40 years, has gone into countries in central america and the middle east and exploited people through inflated forecasts and loans that cannot be paid back. as an american this is by far the most eye-opening and fascinating account of how our government's only agenda is to build a global empire through expolitation, lies, and manipulation. i highly suggest this read to anyone that cares about the world.

Re: Confessions of an Economic Hitman

mate...your preaching to the choir. But that said you shouldn't make hasty conclusions on the basis of a single book...If you are in the mood to really have your eyes opened and like to read try anything by Noam Chomsky.
