if palestine goes ahead and declares themselves soverign, does that release isreal of all liability in regards to power, oil, supplies, money, etc... the administration rights and whatnot?

cuz it would be nice to see isreal shut the border, cut all flow of goods and power into palestine, say "fuck off", and simply refuse to deal with them. then let palestine truly hold thier fortune in theier own hands. then, once they bomb isreal, isreal can declare war on a separate soverign nation, and finally move forth with what every palestinian wants... a war with isreal.

im only thinking about this as to speed up the inevitable. lets just get the war outta the way. its gonna happen sooner or later.

im curious to see the true legal liability isreal would have if they palesine declared it. what would happen to jerusalem ? (which btw, hasnt seen a "christian nation" try to claim any religious rights, would be fun to see the vatican get involved)

also, how would palestine survive? thier trade routes would be cut off outside of any sea based importing they could handle. but who would trade with a terrorist nation?? i know iran and syria would hop right in, but then the UN would eventually get involved if either of those nations started a conflict.

lotsa questions with pandora's box being opened in kosovo.

Re: questino regarding the palestinian possibilty

There seems to be so much internal strife within Palestine that the likelihood of just one independent state would turn into a factional war amonst Palastinians As far as support, the Arab countries would help without question it is a matter of arab unity if such a reality exists. Look at Egypt, they have their border breached by Hamas if I am correct and Egypt took a rather moderate approach to the situation when they could have responeded more forcefully. After just spending a month in Egypt and the Sinai, the Arab community is pretty tight they see the Palestinians as brothers, fellow arabs, and throw in Islamists as well, Islam runs the show from the first 5am prayer call to the last 7pm prayer call, will the Arab help and influence, define the long term stability of a Palestinian nation on a global scale, probably not and I would agree with you Sean that Isreal would more than likely appreciate the opportunity to take off the gloves and get ugly with that entire region. But I do not expect, any sort of independence chanting until they can get their own government sorted out and that looks very unlikely for a long period of time. Really great question by the way, need more threads like this one.
