thoughts?

I forgot Edwards was even running until i saw him up there answering questions. I think that was his agenda tonight, "Hey don't forget bout me!!"

Thought Hillary's plan to take on Bush, not obama and edwards, was a nice move. In sales, we call that "Assuming the Sale" - talk like your customer already said yes and owns what you're selling. Hillary tonight - it's Me vs. Bush.

Obama - thought he fumbled around a bit tonight in places to be honest. He was still solid tho. He's definitely the wittiest of the three. He didn't lose anything tonight, was just looking for a more powerful performance. Honestly, i thought the race shit that had been in the headlines the past few days was going to lead to a more feisty debate, but it was anything but that.

Thought Clinton's question to Obama was fucking weak, that wasn't even a question. And Hil, don't accuse the current gov. of fear mongering and do then go and do the same with the Prime Minister Gordon comment. That bit read like this: "I'm the only one that's prepared to deal with terrorists when they attack on the day i take office."

Thoughts Toasty, anyone else that watched it?

Was more of a love-in than a debate, at least what I saw. I thought it was pretty milquetoast all around -- no noteworthy moments to speak of. I think the "seated around a table" sorta leads to that sort of outcome, IMO. I think everyone comes off as feistier when standing. Also, though, I think the war of words (or at least the press' coverage of it) was getting to a point that both candidates realized they had to nip it in the bud before it hurt them both.

I actually thought Clinton's question was pretty smart, at least the way it was conceived. He says no, and he looks like he's disagreeing just to disagree. He says yes, and he's following her lead. That said, Obama did a pretty good job of agreeing without making it seem like he was globbing on to a completely novel idea. Also, I thought it was tactically transparent, but then again, I'm very biased...

I appreciate your input, especially considering where you live. your comment does not offend. Aside from what racist assholes like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson want you to think, i think it speaks volumes about where we are as a country with respect to equality when the two leading candidates for the presidency of the united states are a black man and a woman. yes, most definitely, it's time, and it can be so.

I quote a book I read 15 years ago, "Calling today's political elections a beauty contest is a disservice to beauty pageants." None of those candidates are worth their weight in salt, except Hilary. Every election becomes a bigger joke than the last.

Man, do you ever have a crush on that gal. What on earth do you see in her? I look at Clinton, and I see the same ol', same ol', classic politician who will say whatever she needs to say at that moment for her audience. And where is all of this experience I keep hearing about? When her husband was in office, the White House went out of its way to underscore that she had nothing to do with policy after the health care debacle, and now we're supposed to give her credit for 8 years in the White House? My ass.

And what leadership has she shown in the Senate? She's in her second term, and I can't identify a single noteworthy thing she's done. The Democrats have gotten their asses handed to them since 2000, even when Bush was at historic lows.

And finally (for now), as I mentioned in a previous post, she runs the worst in head to head matchups of any of the top three dems against all GOP candidates, and starts out with an enormous amount of baggage. Almost half of the country indicates that they would not vote for her under any circumstances. We learned the hard way with John Kerry that a candidate isn't much good if he or she can't win the general election, and right or wrong, that's a big problem for her.

If Hillary can institue universal health care withour over taxation that would make her the greatest president since FDR.

Was just joking with the spelling thing, but really, can you just shoot off a couple real quick reasons why you think Hillary is THE candidate that is best suited to run our country? We're all friends here, sharing ideas, elaborate please, i really don't have time to read her books, nor do i want to. Cliff's notes maybe? Quick summary? Couple of bullet points? A neat little pro vs con thing? Anything.
