Well, this isn't good.

Bush got to where he is by controlling the message, and this looks like Clinton trying to do the same thing. Feels like so much propaganda. Very troubling.

This is exactly the reason we need some fresh blood in Washington. Bush, Clinton, Bush, now Clinton again. If she gets elected, we're looking at a minimum of 24 years -- almost a quarter of a century -- with one of these two families in the White House. Not good, IMO.

Re: Clinton Plants Question at Town Hall Meeting

I'm glad someone brought this up because I forgot to. I don't believe Hillary didn't know that was a setup question. I saw the video and she answered like it was a setup question. Hillary said - "I get this question from young people about Global Warming everywhere I go". I bet you do Hillary since you pay someone to ask that question.

No doubt about it, none. Of all of the people that raised their hands to ask a question, Hillary happened to pick the one that had a question given to her by a staffer? Riiiiiiight...

I realize that Hillary has this air of invincibility that has been created around her, but I sense things starting to change. Going to be an interesting month and a half between now and the Iowa caucus.

Re: Clinton Plants Question at Town Hall Meeting

I agree that Hillary doesn't seem invincible with this incident and getting attacked at the recent Democratic debate by the other candidates. She's definitely the front runner and people are gunning for her.

Re: Clinton Plants Question at Town Hall Meeting

I'm sure every major person who run for office has used the tactic. I don't think its really that big of deal. Its gets a person to talk about the issue they wish discuss at that moment. People plant questions all the time. I'm sure the White House has people asked question just to make W. look smart (which is not working).

Well, yeah, but I guess the point is that that is one of the things that gets anti-Bush types, which would include a lot of would-be Hillary supporters, so up in arms. With that being the lay of the land, it seems like a pretty stupid thing to do.

It's not that big of a deal to the extent that we've all accepted that our politicians should behave deceitfully and dishonestly.

Re: Clinton Plants Question at Town Hall Meeting

This article is so shit. It stinks of republican propaganda. I'm not saying I would support Hillary, I'm just saying the way this article is written. No wonder when its published on Central Nazi Network...lol just kidding about that. But seriously the way questions are phrased in the article it kind of leads you one way and hardly gives a balanced argument!!! So screw this fat bitch from Iowa...she probably got a gallon of ice cream for this.

I hope it does. She is crooked and deceitful, and I would not want to see her in that position any more than I like seeing Bush there right now.

And I don't see what's wrong with the CNN article, just because it doesn't praise Democrats.

Re: Clinton Plants Question at Town Hall Meeting

Its not that tit doesn't praise democrats...I don't care about that but I don't like reading a one sided argument p.s like all politicians don't plant questions anyway. This article is obviouslly aimed at Hilary Clintons support amongst students ... asking this girl questions like how she feeols about Hilary and Politics now...and her replying she is dissapointed - disilusioned or whatever if she is truly disillusioned by this then she is an Idiot because this is NOTHING new...its been done before by both major parties in the US...as I said this article has one aim and I personally would not give this kind of rubish my time of day normally this belongs with Britney Spears and her thoughts on world poverty as far as Im concerned...i.e. "for retards section" alternativly for those who already hate Hilary to gain more ammunition...I for one personally don't care who becomes the next US president because all canditates so far are pricks in their own way.

Re: Clinton Plants Question at Town Hall Meeting

um.

so how would you make this not one-sided? You want them to first talk about how Hillary's team got caught planting these questions and how "bad" that is, and then reserve half the space in the article to talk about how planting questions is good for democracy and how great Hillary is?

#938431Post 14 of 17

Re: Clinton Plants Question at Town Hall Meeting

No, I want them to investigate the background of this particular phenomenon and say that it is not exclussive to Hilary and that it has been a common issue throught the sphere of politics and general media.

Re: Clinton Plants Question at Town Hall Meeting

Update, of sorts:
GRINNELL, Iowa (CNN) — It would have been just another Q and A session. That is, if Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama hadn't been on the campus of Grinnell College, home of freshman Muriel Gallo-Chasanoff, also known as 'the Clinton plant.'

Just weeks ago, Gallo-Chasanoff was approached by a staffer on rival Hillary Clinton's campaign and given a question to ask the New York senator at an event in nearby Newton, Iowa.

But on Tuesday night, Obama joked, as he and other candidates often have since her story got out, that the questions he would receive had "not been pre-screened."

The crowd erupted in cheers. Some pointed to Gallo-Chasanoff standing near the front of the audience.

"Is this the young lady right here?" Obama asked smiling. "Oh my goodness. I didn't know she was going to be here. I'm not going to call on her."

And he kept his word. But he did give her some one on one time while shaking hands afterward.

"Can I ask you one question?" Gallo-Chasanoff said.

Obama said 'yes' but teased her for "causing all this trouble."

She asked him if it were possible to reach such a high level in national politics without compromising one's morals.

"You don’t have to compromise who you are," Obama said. "You have to make compromises, but not your core values."

Gallo-Chasanoff declined to say whether or not she is supporting anyone at this point.
Here's the actual footage of Obama on stage, and then talking to Gallo-Chasanoff afterwards, if anyone is interested.
