Isn't this job the responsibility of the National Security Advisor? Even if this post is really needed then why didn't we hire someone for the job sooner? Or this just simply a fall guy for the adminstration's failed war in Iraq?

Too late for this guy to absorb the bulk of the blame, but yeah it looks like the administration wants a bit more padding between itself and its mess.
