Great Moments in Punditry
Re: Great Moments in Punditry
"American forces are being "love-bombed" by Baghdadis on a daily basis"
Aint it a bitch that 99% of the Iraqis seam to be into hardcore SM?
Re: Great Moments in Punditry
haha that's great... It's amazing what level of mental retardation is fostered in politics.
Re: Great Moments in Punditry
Nice thread. Goes to show those high paid political analysts don't really know what the hell they're talking about. Which means if we leave Iraq what will really happen? The Democrats say the insurgency will die down and the Republicans say it the war will get worse. I don't think anyone can say with any certainty.
Re: Great Moments in Punditry
^^ true, they can't say that with certainty. But plenty of people recognized with high certainty that you just don't go into a backwards Islamic dictatorship and miraculously turn it into a functional democracy virtually overnight. There's a lot of historical precedence for how these kinds of situations end up, and there's also something called common sense. The whole project is a very obvious recipe for years upon years of military occupation, festering violence, and big heaps of dollars out the window. Probably even average IQ high schoolers recognized that the entire proposition was just ludicrously idiotic from the start. Apparently, Bush and the rest of our government were among the few people people in the world who didn't.
It just goes to show you how people can completely will themselves to ignore rationality for the sake of a strong political agenda. Or perhaps Bush and his cronies really were that stupid...nothing would surprise me anymore. The man probably never read his history.
