I saw it last night. Bill doesn't usually get that unwound, but I don't blame him. If the existing laws were just implemented the way they should be, those girls would be alive.

Re: Geraldo vs O'Reilley Throwdown

I'm sorry..... but Geraldo is such a fucking miserable, worthless, immigration apologist. I watch him a good bit, so I know that he is a very intelligent person. But the positions he takes on immigration completely fly in the face of rational thought. He really should be ashamed of himself. It's like he feel this necessity to side with immigrants just because he is from Puerto Rico. It's pathetic.

I think they're both jackasses, but I actually side with Geraldo on this one (which is something I never thought I would utter). Would they still be alive if these folks had been deported? From a but-for standpoint, of course they would. But they didn't die because they were in the country illegally -- they died because of drunk driving, period. The link between immigration policy and these gals being hit by a drunk driver is way too attenuated to be a true causal relationship.

There are plenty of good arguments on both side of the immigration issue, because it is a highly complex issue. This, however, is an unfortunate incident that really has nothing to do with immigration policy except as a talking point. If you want to talk about immigration, then start a thread and we can all talk about it. This thread, however, is simply about what blowhards these two are.

Re: Geraldo vs O'Reilley Throwdown

they are both right.

geraldo is spot on regarding that this is only a DWI matter. if it were bubba the trucker, immigration wouldnt enter the thinking.

but o reilly is 100% correct in the idea that of all people the mayor and POLICE CHEIF should be enforcing the law the first 3 times. we elect them to make and enforce the law.

Re: Geraldo vs O'Reilley Throwdown

the local govt has been saying that it is a federal issue, not theirs. that is why they arent trying to deport the guy, they are saying that is the fed's responsibility.

I think they should both swim out to sea.
