sooo.... with the world falling apart thanks to a hapless attempt at allowing congress and bush to run a war, and the sheer apathy of the world in regards to the rest of the shit islamists (not islamic people in general, so shut up b4 you take it out of context) are doing throughout the region of the middle east and north africa and southern asia, how long, if ever, will it take for the world to actually give a shit about darfur?

im asking cuz i just watched a video on the BBC news here about the situation. and frankly, since sudan offers nothing to the world, no one gives a damn and all we do is allow our leaderships to scold, all the while sudan thumbs its nose everyone. even blocking aid and refusing to allow a real peacekeeping force in. (note to everyone, the sudanese gov't is directing the janjaweed and giving them free reign and funding.)

imma say never, no one will ever act on thier morals or speeches and this will continue until the arab militias take over. step by step, they are dominating and imposing thier law and ideals upon people, and killing all those who wont submit.

where/when will it happen? within a year? within 2? sooner? never?

the more you learn about this, the sicker it is.
since sudan offers nothing to the world
not quite true, they do have plenty of oil which is going to the Chinese and it's because of the Chinese that nothing is being done.

Thank you for handling that explanation for me.... I'm tired of having to post it all the time. ;)

Nothing will ever get done in Darfur so long as China has veto power in the UN.

Now back to that South Park episode.

Yup. Or Russia. In general there are two blocks in the UNSC, France, US and Britain vs. Russia and China. But when needed they will fal apart and everyone will defend their own little interests.

Darfur, along with Zimbabwe should be completely cut off. Let the people there fight for freedom, instead of relying on Western aid: it's like keeping a festering wound open but not giving any effective treatment. I could write a lot about development aid, but i'll save that for my thesis now. My conclusion though is that development aid does in no way serve it's intended purpose right now, and is basically the replacement of the Cold War money flows and therefore nothing but another channel of resources that must be kept open at all time by profiting actors in African societies.
