joe biden, literally just said

and i quote

""the war will end when president bush decides its gonna end, the congress isnt gonna be able to tell him when to leave''

when asked why

he gave reason number 2 to hate them all

''the republicans will pressure him to leave b/c they wont let him take them into another election with the war''

which leads me to.......................... why is the elction thier concern. you either do what is right or wrong. the election shouldnt matter, the lives and principles on the ground in that hole are what matter, you either help, or abandon. the electoin shouldnt be a thought.

A perfect example of why a war cannot be run or won from Capitol Hill.
"the war will end when president bush decides its gonna end
Hahahahahaha, that's just retarded. The war will end when the militias decide it will end. Face it guys, both the US and the UK are stuck in Iraq

Re: we b screwed. (sign of US govt failngs)

what you just said. should be broadcasted worldwide.

this war , along with the shit happening in africa and pakistan and the tamil tigers...... are more about ppl who own guns thinking they can take charge violently. if the collective world had a conscience, at this point, we would have 500,000 troops there getting the militias out of control.

darfur, afghan, iraq..... all places where startup militias with zero governmental authority are fucking shit up, 90% to employ a islamic influence (quite sadly, as it is ruining the religions reputations on 4 continents....)

Re: we b screwed. (sign of US govt failngs)

the only thing politcians and war should have in common is for the politicians to authorize or not our involvement. After that leave it up to the professionals. After all, if you are involved in a war doesn't it imply you want to win at all costs?

Re: we b screwed. (sign of US govt failngs)

which leads to the question.... and the current US situation within gov't......

what do you stand for? if you pull out now, you show that you only care about yourself, and dont care about what we did, and where iraq is headed. basically a fuck em theory

or

do we follow the bushism's of the last years, and continue to pummel ourselves into a no win situation, continuing an uppoular war, and futility.....

personally, i hate war and violence, but that also leads me to beleive that we must stay, and increase the troops there. if only to kill off the al sadr brigades and whomever else is simply walking into buildings, putting guns to ppl headsa and killing them....

or, just put up a big fence around the middle east and let them kill off each other, and in the end, if we dont like who wins, we pull the hamas routine and dont recognize them, cutting off trade and whatnot. if they truly want to live in a shithole dark ages nation under the religious flag, let them, but we dont have to deal with them.

Re: we b screwed. (sign of US govt failngs)

oh it can have a good outcome... we just need to starve out the people

""your leadership doesnt want to work with the world, so the world wont."

and if the nukes really end up becoming a major factor.. rememebr who has the most, remember who is on the other side of the planet. and lastly, rememebr who is more capable of a ''pre-emtive strike'' i cant beleive i jsut typed that, but reality is reality, we do have bigger bombs, planes that can deliver them and allies surrounding the region. the last thing the world will tolerate is iran threatening a strike, they would bomb them into the jurassic period before we let them even set a missle launch.

true, although this is hardly shocking news. We got into this war because Bush was more interested in any of a host of things (his legacy, vengeance, oil, fear-mongering, etc., take your pick) rather than the actual necessity of fighting a war in Iraq. Why is it surprising that politicians turn to external forces again to determine when we leave?
